The girls were taken to the hospital immediately once the police showed up. Stacie didn't finish her last class and was called down before. And even though police cars were seen it wasn't shown who it was for. Stacie was scared and showed it in anger. She was scared that this would end up like every time before. No matter what reassurance everyone gave her she refused to speak about the abuse or show anything. They all went to the hospital and were met 30 minutes later with Addy coming in. They didn't see Addy as she was rushed into surgery as she had lost so much blood.
They were taken to a room to wait for Addy. The doctors had put them in a room big enough for two and then had set up extra beds understanding that the girls would prefer to spend the night together. Beca had had many stitches all around her body as well as a broken arm, she had a drip with fluids. Emily had received stitches but luckily that was all. Stacie had still refused to be looked over so they couldn't do anything to help. Stacie was pacing back and forth, she had finally stopped yelling. Miss Ranyon and Miss Holmes stayed with the girls the whole time, leaving the room briefly to get food and letting the girls have some time alone.
Beca and Emily had respectfully called Ali and Jesse and explained the situation. Both sets of parents had stepped up immediately and had been speaking to their new social worker and getting everything checked and sorted for them. The women taking Stacie hadn't appeared yet, but they said once they were ready, she would come and introduce herself and pick her up, which, as expected, was not happening tonight.
"So how long have you had this planned?" Stacie said not looking at her sisters.
"This morning we made the plan but thought about it last night with everything that happened," Emily said sitting on the couch and Beca on the bed.
"And why didn't you tell me?"
"Because we knew you would freak out and you had enough going on with worrying about Addy. We wanted to do this, you said so yourself we can't keep living like this," Emily kept going.
"You will have made this all ten times worse you know that, right?"
"But we haven't yet have we, we got help. Addy is alive our mother is taken to custody so can you relax for ten seconds and let the doctors have a look at you at least," Beca said. Beca and Emily had had pictures taken of the evidence of abuse and they assumed Addy would already have them taken or that it would be taken once out. They were still all waiting on Stacie.
"What if she gets out? What if we have to go back home to that? What if this ends like every other time before but worse?" Stacie stops pacing and looks at her sisters.
"And what if it doesn't?" Miss Holmes says walking in with Miss Ranyon and food for all, "what if this time it stops everything?" They came and gave out the food to everyone.
"We believe you and any judge that doesn't is blind," Miss Ranyon finished. Everyone but Stacie sat down and started poking at food. No one was in the mood to eat and not to talk either. Probably because Stacie was so stand-offish with the teachers and her sisters. The silence continued until the doctors walked into the room causing everyone to stand up.
"Relax everything is good. Adelaide just finished surgery, she did well. She lost a lot of blood at the scene. She had some internal bleeding and we had to remove one of her kidneys. She also had multiple stitches everywhere and her left foot was fractured in multiple places so has had surgery to put rods in the bones and broke her left arm. You should be able to see her in an hour or two we will bring her down." The Doctors finished.
"We also want to ask again, Stacie, if you wanted to give a statement and -"
"No, thank you, I'm good," Stacie interrupted, and everyone sighed. They hoped maybe once she saw Addy, she would feel more open to talking and getting checked, but that would be only a wish that might be wasted.
"Okay, we will bring her down soon," The doctors left, and everyone went back to picking at their plates in silence.

Addy woke up to someone stroking her hair. She blinked her eyes open, and all she could hear was beeping. As she adjusted to where she was, she started to panic. She tried to pull the tube from her nose and started trying to push off who was ever on her.
"Shush Addy! It's okay, it's me, Stacie, okay? Just breathe,"
"Stacie" Addy mumbled confused.
"Yeah, we are in the hospital. It's okay, but you just need to calm down. We are all here," Stacie said, returning to stroking her hair and she moved Addy's hands away from her face.
"Everyone?"
"Well, not Mother, but we are okay, Beca and Em are here" Stacie reached out her arms as her sisters came closer.
"I'm tired," Addy says, snuggling further into her big sister.
"Okay, go to sleep it's okay," Stacie hugged her sister closer every time she couldn't and wiped the tears running down her face.
