Addy had barely been staying awake. If she wasn't bouncing her leg in class she would be out like a light. If she stayed still for long she would zone out and she definitely couldn't get away with that this morning. She had Mrs Warrens who made it her mission to ruin Addy's day, calling on her for every question under the sun even when it was clear Addy was confused. She complained that if Addy had only spent more time working and not on her phone at night she wouldn't be tired and would understand more. If only she knew. At the end of class, Addy headed to P.E. Addy with her note at the ready to get out of it. She handed it to her teacher who accepted and told her she could go back to the library and study. Addy sighed knowing the energy it seemed she had just wasted walking all the way around. Once Addy got to her seat she had everything put back on the table, she read the same line about three times before putting her head in her hands and made the mistake of closing her eyes and then she was out.

Miss Holmes had a free lesson before lunch so was planning on going to the staff room to get her food early, she cut through the library as normal and was surprised to see Addy's face first in an open textbook by a small stack of homework next to her. Miss Holmes looked around and then crouched down next to the sleeping girl and rested her hand on her shoulder.

"Addy. Addy sweetheart?" Miss Holmes gently shook Addy's shoulder. Addy jumped awake moving away from Miss Holmes not realising where she was for a second.

"I'm sorry," Addy said rubbing her eyes and pulling away and going back to her book.

"What are you doing out of class?" Miss Holmes asked staying crouched on the floor.

"I have P.E but I have a note so the teacher sent me here." Addy said not looking up from her book.

"Why don't you come to my room I have a free period now so it's empty." Addy was too tired to put up a fight. She stood up and grabbed her bags. Miss Holmes grabbed the homework pile and the textbook and led the half-asleep girl to her room. Once they arrived Addy took a desk near the front and Miss Holmes placed her stuff down in a pile next to her. Addy went to reach for it but Miss Holmes put her hand on it. She sat down in the chair next to Addy.

"When was the last time you slept?" Miss Holmes said. Addy put her hands under her desk making sure to pull her sleeves down.

"It wasn't that long ago," Addy mumbled.

"Any answer but last night is too long. Tell you what I have this lesson free and then it's lunch, what if you stay in here and you get some sleep." Miss Holmes says.

"No, I can't I need to finish my homework. I don't get it." Addy continued to mumble only thinking that her mother would be so mad if she could hear her right now. Miss Holmes looked at the papers and the struggled attempted at everything. Also seeing the due dates on the papers and the closed one was Friday she had time for the other ones.

"These aren't due for a while you could still sleep and do these later," Miss Holmes counters.

"No, I can't,"

"What if while you get some sleep for me, I will go through your homework and write you some instructions to help you do these later?" Miss Holmes offers and Addy looks up shocked.

"You would do that?"

"Well, I am the one making you sleep and if this was us working in classes I would help you like this now. So, you can go through the steps at home later and get some sleep now. How does that sound, I'm not doing it for you but just giving you a hand as I assume your mother is not possibly the most helpful." Miss Holmes picked up the work and put it on her desk. She picked up a blanket that she had under the table and gave it to Addy. She took it warily.
