At 4 o'clock in the morning Addy woke up. She slowly sat up and felt her stomach turning, she went to move to the edge of the bed. Not her bed as hers was covered in sick. As she went to push herself up, she felt Stacie's hand reach out and touch her arm. Addy turned around to make eye contact with Stacie. She pinch her eyes open to look to see if Addy was okay.
"I'm just going to the Toilet." Addy whispered as she moved to standing as Stacie moved to sit up. Addy shook her head signalling to Stacie that she didn't have to go with her but nevertheless she did follow Addy to the toilet not wanting her to be alone. Unsure if Addy would be okay on her own, she walked her to the bathroom. Stacie was corrected in going as Addy continued to get rid of the rest of the contents in her stomach. After her dry puking stopped, she leaned back against Stacie and tried to catch her breath back. Her stomach was in so much pain from continuing to clench her stomach. Tears were stained down her cheeks and seemed to stay permanently there.
"Stacie..." Stacie mumbled in response, "when is this going to stop? It hurts so much" The tears continued to flow but she could no longer feel them running down her face. Stacie who had barely slept and was tired from stress piled her eyes open to look at Addy.
"I don't know baby. You feeling any better?" Stacie said hopefully knowing that the fact she is still vomiting isn't a positive sign.
"A little maybe. I'm not sure." Addy whispers, trying to think about where her pain sits compared to where it was only a few hours before. Stacie was thinking about when she would next have to change the bandages on Addy's back and all the pain she would have to go through.
"Should you change my bandages now?" Addy whined out knowing she couldn't put up the inevitable.
"Are you still tired and want to go back to sleep?" Stacie asks stroking Addy's hair, tired beyond belief herself. Addy nodded.
"I don't know what to do, It's probably passed the time that we get it changed. But then I want you to get more sleep afterwards, and I don't know if the back will keep you awake. But then if I leave this on your back you're just gonna be in more pain and I don't want it to get reinfected. I-" Addy interrupted.
"Just get it changed. Stacie don't worry. You are doing a good job. I love you." Addy said weakly, giving Stacie the reassurance she needed.
"Only if you're sure?," There was a nod in response, "This is going to really hurt, both parts of it. As I don't know how to do it without it being in a lot of pain."
Stacie briefly left the room to go grab everything she needed. She wiped the sleep from her eyes, she splashed water in her face. She hoped she could get away with this quietly. But doubted it. Maybe it wasn't the best to do it at 4:30 in the morning. But she also knew it was best now that she was awake. The house was big but not soundproof. And there was a possibility if they weren't quiet they would be heard. Stacie slowly started to remove the bandages and then realised they were stuck where it had soaked through them. Both girls winced. Stacie tried dapping it with water to peel it off. As she attempted to clean as she went. Then it got to the point where it was the worst. Addy had been as quiet as she could before she let out a blood curdling scream in pain as she threw up all over the bathroom. As if the smell wasn't bad enough. Immediately Beca ran through the door. You could see Beca hadn't had much sleep either but was definitely just been woken up.
"You can go back to sleep." Stacie says not wanting everyone in the house to not be able to sleep.
"You keep going I'll sit with her. It's better you get that done." Beca suggested not waiting for a response moved to sit nearer Addy. As Stacie nodded and continued.
In the other room both Ally and Emily sat up abruptly.
"What was that?" Ally asked. Emily thought for a second before laying back down. She knew Stacie was with Addy and now probably Beca. They didn't need all the girls crowding. And if they needed her she would come.
