When Miss Holmes pulled up at the gate she was speechless. She had never even been to this part of town before, but definitely imagined this was exactly how it looked like just having the fact that they stopped at gates!
"Thanks for the lift and helping Addy earlier." Beca said, as she was going to get her bag and leave the car.
"Wait, I'm not leaving you at the gate. I at least want to know how Addy is. Or talk to Stacie, like Emily said she is the best one to talk to. Maybe you mom?" Miss Holmes said.
"No that's not what i meant! Like maybe when they are back at school" Emily said knowing that if it seemed like that is what Emily wanted which would cause more arguments.
"It would also help you guys tomorrow at school if your sisters don't come in, I can see that it's still bad and you girls are doing everything to make it better." Miss Holmes says knowing she is crossing a line.
"So you're black mailing us?" Beca said, surprised.
"No if you desperately don't want me to come in it's fine. But maybe I can help. I doubt your mom's in yet. And I may not be a parent myself but i know how to help, might relieve Stacie for a bit, you guys can talk. But I can't force you to do anything." Miss Holmes finished.
"Sounds forceful." Emily muttered they weren't going to get away with her not coming in.
"Fine, whatever. But where not on school grounds anymore. So if we swear it's our house. Oh and Stacie is gonna hate this! So you can deal with her!" Beca said, telling Miss Holmes the password to get through the gate. It's not like she would be able to find the house again let alone remember the pass code.
They drove to the front of the house and Beca texted Stacie saying that they were outside and that Miss Holmes was coming in. Miss Holmes parked the car and they all got out and walked to the front door. Beca and Emily walked in followed by Miss Holmes who was stunned looking around the house. It was incredible.
"Wait down here or in the kitchen, I will get Stacie. She may be a couple of minutes so make yourself comfortable. She isn't happy and doesn't like this so..." Beca said, she was pissed and couldn't tell Miss Holmes to leave and knew that the only way was to see Stacie but that's not the same reaction she is gonna get. She stormed up the stairs with the bandages for Addy's back and walked into the room forgetting that Addy was asleep. Making Addy jump and wake up.
"Hey...shush i got you... you're okay." Stacie said stroking Addy's hair calming her down while staring at Beca like she was going to punch her which to be honest was very tempting.
"Sorry." Beca mumbled seeing the state Addy was in and realising that this was more serious than she had intended. And the smell filling her nose made Beca also want to throw up.
"Have you got the stuff?" Stacie said, pissed.
"Yea. Have you checked your phone? Like in the last 3 minutes." Beca said not knowing why Stacie wasn't in more of a panic.
"Well no, just say whatever you messaged me, get on with it." Stacie said slowly, sitting up a very pale sickly Addy, who seemed too weak to do it on her own.
"Miss Holmes is down stairs." Beca said bluntly knowing it's better just to state the obvious then beating around the bush. Stacie was already annoyed as it was so this really didn't help but didn't want to freak Addy out too much so tried to remain calm.
"Why?!"
"She wanted to see Addy, make sure she was okay. Talk to you. Apparently give you a break or some bullshit so you can talk to us as she can watch Addy because she is an adult or something. I don't know. She isn't gonna leave without at least seeing you. Emily is with her now." Beca finished knowing this wasn't going well.
