.

It all happened too fast...

Shuǐ ChénLín had prevented Zhao LanFeng from taking his place, and had been slashed by the Mantis.

Lu FengHo was still trying to understand what had just happened!

The mantis hadn't died, and this time, it had moved swiftly and silently, taking out who it had perceived as the biggest threat.

The mantis was back on its feet, and as Lu FengHo watched, the white spikes on its body were shooting out of it.

Lu FengHo tried to set up a barrier, but he couldn't mold his spirit power anymore, so he leapt away to distract the mantis from the other two...

Meanwhile, LanFen felt Shuǐ ChénLín's warm blood flow down her arm

"Shuǐ Chén! Shuǐ Chén!!" She had called him, but he wasn't responding.

Deep down, she felt an unbelievable fury rise through her, but unlike the time with Jun, she could feel Shuǐ ChénLín's heart beating against her chest, and knew she had to act quickly.

Despite her own weakness, she forced herself to refine and transfer some of her qi to him, though she was still pinned beneath him.

Then she held out her hand and forcefully summoned Shubi again. She grasped the bare blade of the sword, close to its hilt and barely flinched when it cut into her palm.

Her blood flowed from the hilt, to the tip of the sword, then surrounded the entire blade, turning it red.

"Thousands of swaying blood petals!" She said, and Shubi shattered into thousands of pieces, which were red, instead of black.

LanFen directed the tiny shards to the mantis, which had been trying to attack Lu FengHo, and the shards began to attack the mantis, slashing at any bit of flesh they could find.

The mantis began clawing against the thousands of red petals, but they were too many, and they were flying around, out of his reach, continously slashing at it.

Lu FengHo had come over, and he gently lifted Shuǐ ChénLín off LanFeng. "Shuǐ Chén!" He began to stop the bleeding at Shuǐ ChénLín's back and continued transferring pure qi to him.

LanFen sat up, her fingers controlling the tiny red petals that were tormenting the mantis.

"Younger brother, can you maintain that technique from afar?" Lu FengHo asked her. "Its skin is too tough, so the petals won't do much damage, but if you can keep it distracted like this, all three of us might be able to escap-." he gasped.

LanFen had shifted her gaze to him, and he noticed that her irises were completely blood red!

"Elder brother, there's no need to run from something that's already dead." Her irises shifted back to the mantis, and Lu FengHo realised he had been holding a pent up breath.

LanFen's lips bent into cold smile void of all feeling, which made Lu FengHo wish she wouldn't smile at all.

"I think my blood should have entered the mantis properly by now." She said, and it was then that Lu FengHo noticed her palm was bleeding.

With every cut on the Mantis, her blood would have mixed with its own.

"Blood Lust." LanFen uttered the words so softly, that it sounded more like a whispered endearment, than a technique...

Until Lu FengHo began to hear the ripping of flesh and breaking of bones behind him.

He turned to see solid, blood-red spikes, shooting out from within the mantis at all angles.
