.
LanFen couldn't wait to explore the many joys of Jade City, but instead, she would be stuck paying respects for the whole day!
Lu FengHo came to fetch her in less than two hours, and wasn't surprised to find her in a sour mood.
"The *seals on these robes are too many! Are assassins waiting for us in the other sects?!" She complained to Lu FengHo.
*Sect robes were usually mildly enchanted to withstand some levels of attacks.
But Lu FengHo barely heard her, and he stopped short, at the sight.
LanFen was dressed in the night-blue outer robes, which were meant for Shuǐ clan guest disciples, and she had chosen to wear white inner robes inside hers, which were a pleasant contrast to the dark hue.
Her waist was bound with a leather black belt, held in place with her newly returned white ribbon, and a small black and gold qiankun pouch, swung from her belt.
The second white ribbon bound up part of her hair up in a neat bun, while the rest of her hair, and the ends of the ribbon, flowed down her shoulders and back, past her waist.
The outer robes were long, and lightly brushed the tops of her feet, and the sleeves were narrow, with wide leather straps covering the region from her mid forearms to her wrist.
'Is there something on my face?' LanFen wondered. Her appearance was similar to how most martial artists dressed, so she didn't exactly understand Lu FengHo's look...
But Lu FengHo was staring at an astonishing sight, and even felt his breath catch for a second.
He fisted his hand and put it to his lips. "Ahem!" *cough* "We should get going." He simply said, then turned around in a hurry, his ears turning slightly red.
'What a fellow!' He couldn't honestly say Zhao LanFeng was handsome...
He was beautiful!
'Are the ladies in Jade city safe?!'
.
Lu FengHo and LanFen walked out of the Shuǐ Manor to a waiting carriage, and Shuǐ ChénLín's paused when his eyes fell on Zhao LanFeng.
So far, he had only seen him looking darker and more evil than death, looking sickly, or looking unruly in the house robes.
But this...
He looked away. "So you can have the appearance of a human." he said through one of the carriage windows. "Hurry, Lord Luo is expecting us."
Lord Luo was the Clan Leader of the Rainfall Clan, the third Prominent Clan of the Western Region.
LanFen eyed the carriage. "Is Jade city that big? I assumed we would be walking, since we are only visiting the three Prominent Clans."
Lu FengHo grinned. "Ehehe, Clan Leader Shuǐ is making a statement. If he acknowledges you to the point of sending you in a carriage, no one will dare disrespect you openly!"
LanFen made a quiet note to thank Clan Leader Shuǐ later.
And that was how the long, tedious day began...
They would arrive at the Clan Manor of another clan and pay their respects to the Clan Leader, before going off to meet the next one...
They started with Clan Leader Luo, who welcomed them in warmly, but never met LanFen's gaze.
Next was Clan Leader Wong Fu Heng, who eyed LanFen with curiosity and disapproval. But after a while of seeing LanFen display impeccable manners, he warmed to her a little.
