Shuǐ ChangSheng continued the story...
"After Zhao Feng opened his eyes, he slept again for another three days, before fully awakening.
"He couldn't move in the following days, and as he slowly regained his strength, the Shadow group leader explained everything that had happened.
"Once Zhao Feng regained his energy, he changed his appearance and returned to the Zhao clan, but Wang Mei was already gone, and you had already disappeared.
"He searched for you everywhere, but you were nowhere to be found, and no one knows where the shadow clan dwells, so even if he thought of searching there, he had no way to find it.
The only reason he didn't destroy the Wang and Zhao Clans was because he suspected you will return for vengeance, so he let it be your goal."
Zhao ZhuYong had left the Clans as a glimmer of hope, so he would see LanFen again, if she returned.
In the meantime, he searched for her in the many different regions, taking up his wife's surname of 'Wang' and assuming the identity of the old 'Blind Healer', to avoid any unnecessary confrontations.
It was after five years, that he heard that one 'Xuè Shèngrén' had destroyed the Wang Clan and Zhao clans, but he hadn't arrived at Camellia City fast enough, and the Shuǐ Clan had reached her first.
Realizing he would need to save her life from the Wulin, he had gotten his hands on a teleportation talisman, and had taken Elder Zhao to Jade City, so he would make it to the hearing in time...
"In these little ways, Zhao Feng has been trying to help you. He knew if you were to live a normal life after your revenge, you will need the Wulin's acceptance, so he left you with me.
"This was the real reason he didn't try to take you away, all this while, but opted to protect you from the shadows, instead."
LanFen had bowed her head.
She felt saddened that she had doubted her father, and had only added to his years of hurt and suffering...
Who was she, to have even cast those eyes on her father?
Shuǐ ChénLín still hadn't released LanFen's hand, and he felt a bit helpless that he couldn't do much for her, at this moment.
Lu FengHo had come to stand on her other side, and he gently placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder, but comforting as it was, it only reminded LanFen of the hand her father had placed on her shoulder, not too long ago, and how she had coldly stepped away.
She finally shook her hand free of Shuǐ ChénLín's, and then cupped her hands.
"May I seek Clan Leader Shuǐ's permission, to temporarily return to the Zhao Clan?" She asked.
The fact that LanFen had called his father 'Clan Leader Shuǐ' again, instead of her recently fond, 'old man Shuǐ', told Shuǐ ChénLín her current state of mind, and he stepped forward.
"Father, I would like to accompany LanFen to Camellia City."
LanFen opened her mouth to protest, but Lu FengHo joined in.
"So would I." He said.
But Shuǐ ChangSheng just shook his head. "I understand your impatience to smoothe things over with your father, but if you don't want to cause Zhao Feng any further grief, don't make any hasty decisions, and remain here, where it's somewhat safe.
"You will likely fall into danger before you reach him, and if that happens, he will lose the desire to remain in this world."
"But Clan Leader Shuǐ, how is this different from our journeys, so far?!" LanFen asked.
