.
Shuǐ ChénLín and LanFen had walked a short distance after that, when LanFen suddenly leapt up to a roof. "Such a wonderful night! There is no better time to enjoy fine wine!"
"Disciple Zhao! Come down from there and let's return!"
"What to do? I don't feel like returning just yet."
"It's not a matter of whether you want to return or not. We are leaving at dawn, so going back to Lord Su's manor is sensible!"
But LanFen pretended not to hear him, and in the next instant, she had cleanly leapt to a higher roof. "Wah! Such a glorious sight!" She exclaimed, then settled herself on the cold slates and took out a small gourd of wine.
Shuǐ ChénLín could only imagine the view, especially since there was a festival.
Before now, he had never felt the need to sit on a roof, even with Lu FengHo, so he had the sudden urge to go up on the roof and join Zhao LanFeng.
But far be it from him to-.
"Fènghuáng-Jun! Why not come up here?" LanFen gestured beside her, on the roof. "'The 'breeze' is good for forgetting troubles'!" She had played on the saying, 'The wine is good for forgetting troubles', as she dangled a wine gourd at him.
"Zhao LanFeng, get down from there! We are representing the Shuǐ Clan in this city! Are you trying to announce to the entire city, that you're a drunkard?!"
"Ehehe, I think being down in the streets, is far worse, isn't it? With the many brilliant bright lights of night, and the many festive activities, who would be looking upwards right now?"
Shuǐ ChénLín merely scowled. Zhao LanFeng had a point, but he refused to give in to the urge to join him.
However, LanFen just smiled, then turned her face away, and said in a loud mutter, "Tch! Excellent at qinggong, but scared of high places... Perhaps, he might even throw up, if he drinks up here!"
It was an obvious provocation, and Shuǐ ChénLín knew this.
Yet, he couldn't help displaying those excellent qinggong skills, as he easily leapt from the ground to the high roof and joined her.
"Ahahaha! Do you dislike being teased that much?!" LanFen's palm were surrounded by flames, as she warmed the wine.
Then she handed Shuǐ ChénLín the gourd, and he grabbed it in annoyance. He produced a liquor cup from his sleeves, and filled it with the wine.
"Fènghuáng-Jun! You go as far as carrying one around?!" She was staring at the small cup with no small amusement, but he just scowled at her and downed the wine.
"Isn't it beautiful here? Enjoying wine and the gleaming lights and brilliant colours..."
"Uhm." Shuǐ Chén replied, a bit surprised that he was indeed enjoying the view...
"But Disciple Zhao, why shave off only half of Jin ShuLin's head?" He found himself asking after a while. "How is he going to be respected in society?" Shuǐ ChénLín was struggling not to laugh at the sorry image Jin ShuLin had painted, especially when compared to his proud and boastful air from that morning.
"Tch! I wish it was permanent, but Jin ShuLin would only bare the shame for a while. In camellia City, there's a herb that let's hair grow miraculously fast, and can give him a full head of hair in half a year.
"It is extremely rare and expensive, so it would at least cost Clan Leader Jin the cost of three large houses, to buy it!"
Shuǐ ChénLín bit back a laugh, staring at the lights from the city.
