.
LanFen opened her eyes to find herself kneeling beside a somewhat familiar place...
'Luo Abyss!' She thought.
Luo Abyss was a place of punishment...
In fact, if Old man Zhao had not arrived at her hearing, fast enough, she would have either been beheaded, or brought here to be thrown down...
Luo Abyss was a place that was nicknamed the 'bottomless pit', and it had deadly lesser demons crawling around.
Usually, if one was sentenced here, the Clan Leaders would have their spirit energy locked. Then they would be thrown down. Even if the person miraculously survived the fall, they would definitely be too injured to physically fight off the demons, which was why it was also nicknamed the 'Cliff of no return'.
In LanFen's current state, she had been stabbed in the abdomen, and all her talismans had been taken away.
Added to that, her qi had been blocked, and she was tied up with spirit-binding ropes...
She certainly 'wouldn't return' from such a fall!
She eyed the edge of the abyss, which was a little too close to her right. One good wind, and she might keel over and fall in!
"I see you are awake, and you realize the position you're in..." Elder Shuǐ's jovial voice spoke to her, dragging her attention to him, and to those who stood around.
Despite the darkness, LanFen could recognize quite a few Clan Leaders, and a lot of cultivators around Elder Shuǐ. A large number of them had a cultivation level above the black realm, so she presumed Elder Shuǐ was making a stand here, in case anyone followed her and tried to confront him.
They're were almost a hundred here, so they would certainly be a formidable force to overcome.
Amidst the men closest to them, LanFen identified Clan Leader Jin XuXian, a prominent Eastern Clan Leader. He was the father of Jin ShuLin, who she and Shuǐ Chén had run into, near Lode City.
Beside him was the new Zhou Clan Leader, Zhou ZhuFeng's son, who smirked coldly at LanFen.
The two Southern prominent Clan Leaders that followed the Elder, were present, which meant they had likely left their subordinates in charge of the siege at the Wang Clan.
Apart from them, were two other prominent Clan Leaders, one from the north, and one from Jade City.
Interestingly, Clan Leader Ming Shen Zhu was not here, but LanFen was fairly certain that the white sword that had stabbed her was the Crystal Lotus... His sword.
In all, LanFen counted one prominent Western Clan Leader, two prominent Southern Clan Leaders, Two Eastern prominent Clan Leaders, and one Northern prominent Clan Leader.
And that was excluding the horde of followers around them!
'They're far too many!' LanFen concluded, but thanks to her, Elder Shuǐ had no control over 'any' ruling Clan!
So she bit down on her fear.
She would not cower here... Not before the person who had killed Jun!
And besides, she was thankful that the Elder had come after her, not Shuǐ ChénLín...
"Elder Shuǐ," She winced from the pain in her side. "What a marvelous welcome! If you wanted to see me, why didn't you just send an invite? All that trouble, just to meet someone who has been searching for you, for more than a year?"
"Come now, you are far too clever to take me on alone, so my invitation would have been ignored, wouldn't it? That, or you would have invited your own guests, to accompany you." Elder Shuǐ's voice was calm and politely condescending... The same way he had spoken to Jun at first.
