"... I want you to grab a lot of attention..." Shuǐ ChénLín had told LanFen earlier.

"Hmph! I've never been accused of not attracting attention. But today, it must be even better!"

LanFen brought out a set of robes and the Zhao hair accessory, which were items that old man Zhao had left with her before he returned to the East.

"Lady Mei, I'll leave it to you! I'm trusting in you, to transform me into the most 'handsome Man'! Make sure I drag everyone's eyes, once I enter that place!"

And that she did!

There was a slight commotion, the instant LanFen stepped into the hall.

"Wah! Who is that?!"

"What a face?!"

"So flawlessly handsome!"

"Like freshly fallen snow!"

"Is he even a man?! Ah! He must be!"

"Zhao Clan colours... Is that-?"

"I heard he would be here, so it must be him, right?"

'Heh! Elder brothers! Didn't I do well?' LanFen leisurely fanned herself, as she strutted through the hall.

Even Shuǐ ChénLín and Lu FengHo had nearly spat out their wine, at the sight of Zhao LanFeng!

LanFen had dressed in a set of high-neck red robes, lined and embroidered with gold. Her entire hair had been gathered over her scalp in a spiral bun, held up in place with the Zhao flame-shaped hair accessory.

Her eyes had been painted like a pheonix, with a brilliant red and orange eye shadow, and three small black dots at the end of each eyelid.

She had also disguised her fan Shubi again, but this time, as an intimidating mix of reds and oranges, in the bright pattern of flames.

"Haaa! That fellow..." Lu FengHo said, but Shuǐ ChénLín barely heard him.

Or anything around him, for that matter.

His stormy gray irises flashed a brilliant white, before returning to an even stormier gray... Something formed in his heart, causing it to beat faster, and he felt heat crawl up his neck, as an odd warmth coiled around him, causing him to sweat a little.

'Just who are you, Zhao LanFeng...?' He wondered in awe and confusion, then hurriedly looked away, downing his small cup of wine.

Meanwhile, LanFen herself had paused, the instant her eyes landed on Shuǐ ChénLín.

He was dressed almost the same way he had been, during her sentence, in the official blue and silver dress robes of the Shuǐ Clan, with his hair, styled to perfection, and held up by a more ornate version of the regular Shuǐ accessory.

LanFen couldn't help but admire him, but attractive as he looked, her mind focused on his eyes.

He had turned away almost immediately, but the instant their eyes had met, LanFen hadn't missed that brilliant flash of white.

She had thought she saw something similar, during their first mission, but back then, she assumed she had imagined it.

Not this time.

Unlike her Divine Piercing Eye technique, this didn't seem like something he was controlling. And in fact, going by his behaviour, he didn't even seem aware of it.

LanFen would have liked nothing more than to go over and question him, but she had a task, so she shook her head.

'Perhaps I saw it wrong again.' She told herself, and then turned her attention to the host and his brother.
