After travelling round the four regions for two months, LanFen decided to go up Bai Hua mountain, one of the mountains in the northern region, rumoured to be extremely deadly.

"Young Master Qin, don't go up there!" A hunter warned. He had graciously allowed LanFen stay in his ramshackle house for a few days, and LanFen had introduced herself as 'Qin Feng', a travelling *rogue cultivator.

*Rogue cultivator- Cultivators unattached to any Clan or Sect

The two sat beside the fire, drinking.

"The top of Bai Hua mountain is called the 'no god zone'. That's because people have drunkenly said, even the heavens cannot protect you up there!

"There are rumours that an Ancient creature resides there!" The hunter told her.

Ancient creatures were Large Demons that existed with no trace on their origin!

They could have been created by the heavens to punish a person or group of people... They could have been man-made demonic abominations by ancient Masters... Or they could be a curse created by the world itself...

No one knew. It was simply best to avoid them.

The hunter's cheeks were decidedly redder from the wine, as he continued talking.

"Even the Kong Clan don't reach the top of the mountain when they go hunting there! Lord Kong, their Clan leader, is the only person who went to the top and returned alive!"

"Could it really be an Ancient Creature?" LanFen asked skeptically. Most old mountains were rumoured to have Ancient creatures, and most of the time, they were nothing but rumours.

Sometimes, what people assumed were ancient creatures, were usually just large and particularly powerful Lesser demons, whose powers became exaggerated by survivors.

So LanFen didn't particularly believe Bai Hua mountain was any different.

"Young master, even Lord Kong isn't sure what attacked him!" The hunter told her. "All he knows, is that he had to fight for his life, and he returned injured! He went into a three-year secluded cultivation, just to fully recover!"

LanFen considered all he had said. 'Sounds like some high level demons are involved... It's perfect for hunting!'

"Are you still planning to go?" The hunter asked her.

"Yes. I'll take it as an adventure and go anyways. I won't approach the top though." LanFen smiled, already planning of how she would train more of her techniques up there.

She didn't fool herself into thinking she could defeat an Ancient Creature. Those things were rumoured to be on the same level as Light Realm Cultivators.

She didn't really believe there was one on the mountain, but if there was, she planned to avoid it, and stay away from the top.

"Well, let's drink to your adventure then, and hope you return alive." The hunter had said after a surprised pause.

And the two of them drank into the night...

.

The next day, it had taking a few hours for LanFen to reach slightly above the mountain's halfway range.

Though She had initially flown on her sword, a strong force had prevented her from flying past a point, so she was forced to land and make her way up on foot.

After she landed, she explored the forest a little, finding a peaceful cave where she could hide and cultivate. She created a few seals, so nothing could come into the cave.
