The following months brought spring and fresh life to Luòshuǐ Mountain, and the disciples began to hound LanFen foo lessons again.

She also began training the Junior disciples in the Level Two forest, and she  resumed her training with Shushu the snake, when she was free.

She was close to a breakthrough, so most nights, she retired early and spent the night meditating in her room.

Meanwhile, in the past months, Shuǐ ChénLín had become more and more bothered by Zhao LanFeng.

He was determined to put her from his thoughts, and he had begun spending a considerable amount of time with Lin Lingshan, but to no end.

Zhao LanFeng continued to enter his mind, with the most ridiculous of triggers.

He could be walking down the street and once he spotted a vendor selling sugar-coated hawthorns, he would remember LanFeng under the beautiful sun rays of the crystal willow, holding the hawthorns in front of his face.

Whenever he caught a glimpse of the moon, or passed by a field of flowers, he would suddenly remember their night in the orchid field, under the beautiful full moon.

The instances that annoyed him the most were things like seeing brightly coloured robes and suddenly feeling the urge to laugh, or seeing a flash of red, and subconsciously looking for LanFeng.

He would see a wreath of flowers and subconsciously touch his own head, or he would catch sight of something as common as a white ribbon, and immediately recall soft lights and waterfalls.

However, Shuǐ ChénLín didn't realize that his frustration was beginning to show...

In fact, even the disciples had noticed!

Shuǐ JunHo, Meng ZhuLi and LanFeng's usual followers, had become constant recipients of Shuǐ ChénLín's temper, especially since they insisted on spending too much time around LanFeng, plaguing him for one training or the other.

'Isn't this too improper?!' Shuǐ ChénLín often thought, whenever he saw her surrounded by disciples.

"Don't you all have duties?!" He thundered at them the first time, sending them scurrying away from a confused LanFen.

"Doesn't it seem like Fènghuáng-Jun is trying to keep Disciple Zhao, all to himself?!" Meng ZhuLi asked bitterly, after Fènghuáng-Jun had suddenly assigned them duties, when he found them surrounding Zhao LanFeng again.

"Ehehehe, if you don't want to have death, 'all to yourself', you should really stop talking!" Shuǐ JunHo warned.

Eventually, the disciples had began to approach Disciple Zhao, only when they were certain that Shuǐ ChénLín wasn't nearby!

One fine day, a new problem arose in Jade City...

There was panic around the outskirts of Jade City, as monsters had attacked and killed a few people on Luòshuǐ Mountain.

Over the next few days, even more people died, from innocent herb pickers, to hunters, to ordinary people climbing the mountain....

At first, they assumed it was a strange creature that had appeared, and they kept going out to hunt it. But then, a few survivors described different creatures each time.

LanFen and Shuǐ ChénLín were instantly reminded of the puppet demon in Lode City, but Elder Xu sensed no strange aura... Not even the kind designed to mislead.

They had also told Clan Leader Shuǐ about it, but search as they might, they hadn't found a single enlightened demon around.

Since Demon Aisle had many strange creatures, Shuǐ ChangSheng began to suspect that the creatures were from there.
