Amalia POV
Another hour driving and we arrived at the hotel we'd be based at for the next few days.
Pulling our suitcases behind us, we entered the hotel lobby to be met with Janet who came straight up to us.
"Good morning you two. Drive okay Danielle?" She greeted.
"We left early enough to miss the traffic," Danielle replied with a smile.
"Great great, still alright to chaperone Amalia?" Janet asked.
I instantly felt a knot in my stomach. What if she'd changed her mind?
"Of course, she's no trouble. Who else has arrived?" She asked, placing her hand on my back.
I let out a sigh of relief.
"Jaina and Grey got her about thirty minutes ago other than that just you two," she explained.
"Why don't you go up to your room and go get freshened up?" She suggested, passing Danielle a room key.
"Great thank you," Danielle smiled, picking up her bag.
"Here's the breakdown of your schedules and a list of numbers that might come in useful," Janet said, handing us both a small folder.
We headed towards the lifts and Danielle looked at the room number on the keycard.
"Floor 7," she smiled, pressing the button when the doors opened.
Our room was huge, I'd never seen or stayed anywhere like it. I felt like an excited child on their first holiday.
There was a huge bay window looking out over the mountains and a view of the hotel pool.
"Choose a bed Lia," Danielle said.
I turned to look at her.
"Lia?" I asked, tilting my head to the side.
She shrugged her shoulders.
"It just slipped out, do you not like it?" She said nervously.
"No it's fine, I've just never had a nickname," I told her.
"Well I think it suits you," she grinned.
"Now choose a bed," she laughed.
I looked between the two beds. Both doubles, one by the window and one against the wall.
Sleeping wasn't my favourite thing.
"That one," I said as I pointed towards the one near the wall, thinking that would make me feel bathe safest.
We both moved to our beds and lifted up our bags.
"Do I have time for a shower?" I asked, remembering that I'd slept in my moms car last night.
Danielle took out the schedule from her folder.
"You do sweetheart, looks like we've got a free day today. It says the crew are using the day to set up and get organised," she told me, reading through the schedule.
I rummaged in my suitcase for a change of clothes and headed into the bathroom. If felt good to stand under a shower that actually produced hot water and had let out more than a dribble of water.
I could stand underneath there forever.
Eventually, I forced myself to get out. I dried off and got changed, not wanting to walk around half naked in front of Danielle.
I walked back out the bathroom and saw her laying on her bed, scrolling through her phone. Putting my clothes away, I took out my hair brush.
"Lia, let me do your hair," Danielle said excitedly. I smiled to myself at hearing my new nickname before turning to face Danielle.
