Amalia POV

"You okay with just getting on with some tutoring work bubba? My call time is in ten minutes," Danielle said, dressed as Maya Bishop.

In an ideal world I'd say no and she'd stay with me but I knew by now that wasn't an option.

"Where's mama?" I asked, a little anxiety escaping in my voice.

"She messaged me fifteen minutes ago, she'll be here in an hour. Feel free to hang out around set bubba, just message to let me know where you are okay?" She said, stroking my cheek gently and tucking my hair back behind my ear.

I smiled and nodded.

"Okay I gotta run, I love you sunshine," Danielle smiled, nuzzling her nose with mine before kissing me.

"Love you mom," I laughed as she walked out of her trailer.

The second the door closed behind her my chest tightened, remembering the time the door closed, leaving me with Lorena.

I squeezed my eyes tightly shut and tried to push away the memory, reminding myself that they weren't here now.

I opened my eyes, looked around the trailer and breathed out a sigh of relief when I saw her hoodie laying on the sofa.
Quickly pulling it over my head, I turned and caught myself in the mirror, smiling to myself at how oversized it was on me.

My phone vibrated on the table with a message. Checking it immediately, I relaxed seeing Danielle had messaged.

- Mommy 💛🌻
Missing you already. Won't be long bubba 😘☺️

I took a mirror selfie of me in her hoodie and sent it to her with the caption, "Missing you more,"

Sitting back down at the table, I opened the laptop and refreshed my online tutoring platform. I felt better when I realised I only had one more assignment left for the day and it was something relatively simple.

I read the description of the task and set to work, glad of the distraction really. When I had double checked my work, I clicked submit.

Done.

I sat back and checked my phone again.

My heart sank when I heard a knock on the trailer door.

I didn't know what to do.

I didn't know who it was.

I went silent.

"Mali it's me,"

Carter.

I breathed out the breath I'd been holding.

It was just Carter.

"Mali," he called again.

"Sorry, come in," I replied.

"Are you alright?" He asked when he entered and saw the panicked state I was in.

"Yeah sorry, you need to message before you do that," I laughed, only half joking.

"Sorry, I'll try to remember," he smiled, setting himself down on the sofa.

I turned around and leant against the back of the chair to face him.

"Where's Danielle?" He asked.

"Filming with Jaina, Stefania's coming over from Greys soon," I told him.

"There's tonnes of fans outside today. Way more than normal," he told me.

"Then I'll be staying in here," I smirked.
