"Mama please," Amalia began to panic.
"I've changed my mind,"
"Mama please," she begged, practically tugging on my arm.
"Okay okay bambina look at me, look at me bella," I said calmly.
"Mama please," she repeated desperately.
"Amalia bambina look at me," I said slowly, taking her hands in mine.
"Eyes on mama," I instructed.
"Good Amalia good, big deep breaths then we'll talk," I said, slowing my own breathing down and modelling some deep breaths.
"Good," I breathed out, seeing her copy me.
"Amalia I know you're scared, I know this seems huge but I really think it will do you the world of good. I don't want to force you bella but the first time you go it is never going to be easy. The sooner you take these first steps the sooner it will get easier," I tried to explain to her.
"Right we ready to go?" Danielle said, approaching us in the hallway after grabbing her car keys off the side.
"Hey what's wrong sunshine?" She asked, suddenly realising the state the bambina was in.
"Just having a little wobble," I explained.
"Oh bubs you'll be completely fine. We'll be with you the entire time," she assured her.
Amalia sniffed and wiped the tears from her eyes.
"Yeah okay," she said quietly.
"Good girl bella, I'm so proud of you," I smiled, keeping one of her hands in mine as I opened the front door.
"Who's gonna be there?" Mali asked as Danielle pulled out the driveway.
"Caterina obviously and her children," I began.
"And Camilla,"
"I believe Jake Borelli is coming,"
"Who?" Mali asked curiously.
"He plays Schmitt bambina, I thought you'd met him before?" I said, turning around in my seat to look at her.
"I don't think so," she shrugged.
"Is Jaicy going?" She asked.
"I dont know bella, I don't think the whole cast will be there," I chuckled.
"I like Jaicy," she added.
"Even though she made you jealous at the house party?" Danielle teased.
"I wasn't jealous," Amalia pouted.
"Yeah okay bubs," Danielle laughed.
"I wasn't," Amalia said quietly to herself, stubbornly crossing her arms.
"Bambina your mom's only teasing you, she's gonna be jealous herself when everyone fussed over you today," I said, attempting to make her feel better.
"That's true bubs, I'm not even gonna try and deny it," Danielle laughed again.
"I don't want people fussing over me, I wanna stay with you two," Amalia panicked.
"Shh bella calm down, we'll be there. We'll be there," I said calmly, preventing a full blown anxiety attack.
"What animals do you hope are there?" I asked her, needing to distract her further.
"Hmmm I dunno, I just don't want to go near a snake," she said shuddering at the thought.
