Amalia POV

"You're what?!" Carter asked, shock all over his face.

"I'm leaving the show," I said again, unable to look him in the eye.

"Why? Have you been written out or something?" He asked.

"Well I guess I will be written out eventually, but it's my decision, not the writers," I told him.

"But why?" He asked again.

"I just don't want to act right now. I want a break..."

"I want to just figure out who Amalia is instead of playing someone else," I tried to explain.

Carter nodded, looking down at his drink, his thumb moving across the lip of the cup.

"Say something," I said after a few moments silence.

"Who knows?" Carter asked.

"Danielle, Stefania and I went to speak to the producers last week so they know. But other than that, I've only told you and Danielle told Barrett this morning," I said.

"When are you leaving?"

"I'm not too sure how it will be done but I won't be in the show next season," I replied.

"I'll still be on set all the time though. I'll still have all my school work to do and I'll be on set with Danielle and Stef," I added.

"It won't really change how much we hang out," I assured him.

"I'll probably be on set more than you will," I smiled, trying to cheer him up.

Upon hearing this, he offered me a small smile in return. His shoulders relaxed a little.

"I guess that's okay then," Carter smirked.

"Im sorry I just don't want to not see you all the time," he shrugged.

"I know, I'd be upset if you were leaving," I confessed.

"It took me ages to realise that it's what I wanted to do. It was driving Danielle and Stefania crazy not knowing what was wrong,"

"What are you going to tell Effie?" He asked.

"I don't know," I sighed.

"Do you trust her not to leak it?" He asked.

"I think so but maybe I should wait until we find out what the writers have planned?" I suggested.

"You could let her find out like the rest of the fans when the episode airs?" Carter pointed out.

"That doesn't feel right. I would feel bad for lying to her the entire time,"

"Well I'll support you with whatever you decide, thank you for being honest with me. Even if it sucks," he smirked.

"I promise it won't change our friendship,"

"Nothing ever will," Carter smiled, just has his phone lit up with a message.

He looked down and smiled.

"Who's got you looking like that?" I asked, taking a sip of my drink.

"Oh it's no one, just someone from school," he said a little awkwardly.

I furrowed my eyebrows a little but didn't try to get him to tell me.

"Shall we head back to set? My mom's picking me up for soccer practice soon," Carter said, finishing his coffee.

"Yeah sure," I smiled, despite feeling a little pang of jealousy, something I was getting used to with having Ford steal Danielle and Stefania from me.
