Danielle POV
"Hey sunshine," I said softly, opening Amalia's bedroom door and popping my head around.
"Morning," she yawned, stretching her arms up above her head.
"Can I come sit?" I asked gently.
She nodded sleepily.
I made my way over, pulled back the covers and climbed in beside her.
"How'd you sleep?" I asked, wrapping my arm around her and guiding her head down onto my shoulder.
"Okay I guess," she shrugged.
"So not at all?" I asked, raising my eyebrow.
I felt her nod against me.
"Oh Mali, you need to come to me when you're struggling," I sighed, squeezing her tightly to me.
"I'm sorry, I didn't want to wake you," she said sadly.
"I've told you, I don't mind one little bit. Please try and come get me next time baby ," I said seriously.
"I'll try," she agreed.
"Good girl," I said softly, kissing the top of her head.
"Maddie and Dani are coming over today. We're gonna film an Instagram live while I get my makeup done. Do you wanna join us?" I asked her.
She didn't reply for a moment.
"Mali you can say no, I don't want you to feel you have to do something just because it's me asking," I told her.
She sat up a little more, turning to look at me and biting down on her lip anxiously.
"I don't think I want to," she admitted, unable to make eye contact with me.
I lifted her chin so her eyes met my gaze.
"That's absolutely fine baby," I smiled.
"I'm sure Stefania will be glad of your company while I'm filming," I added.
She smiled and nodded, visibly calmer.
"Stef's making breakfast, get dressed and come join us," I said, climbing back out of her bed.
"I'm not actually that hungry but I'll get ready," she replied.
"Mali?" I said, turning back around as I reached her bedroom door.
"Yeah?" She replied innocently.
"Try and eat for me," I said sadly, leaving her to get dressed.
I quickly went and got myself ready for when Maddie and Dani arrived, simply tying up my hair and putting on black leggings and just my robe. I didn't want to get makeup on any of my clothes.
I found Stefania in the kitchen, leaning against the counter and frowning at her phone.
Breakfast was made and already laid out on the table.
"Hey bellina have you been on social media today?" she asked nervously, chewing the corner of her mouth.
"No why?" I asked, frowning in confusion.
"Here," she said, handing me phone.
I scrolled through her Twitter and instantly felt sick. Someone had written an article about what had happened to Amalia's mom and Robert. There were pictures of her house with all the emergency services outside.
With Amalia's name attached to the story and her recent appearances on Station 19, the story had gone viral.
"Not everything in this article is true," I said, continuing to scroll.
