Amalia POV

"Mommy's got one hell of a sugar high after that video. You might need to help me finish some of the candy," Danielle called from the kitchen.

She'd been filming an Instagram video with all the snacks she'd recently been sent from fans.

I'd been watching from my phone, I didn't want to be in it with her.

"Amalia bubba?" Danielle said, getting my attention

"Amalia bubba?" Danielle said, getting my attention.

I watched her frown as I flinched upon hearing her call my name.

She moved from the doorway and crossed the living-room to come at crouch in front of me as I sat on the sofa. I'd not been able to get myself to do much.

She rested her hand on my knee and gently stroked my leg with her thumb.

"What's the matter sweetheart?" She asked softly, knowing something wasn't right.

I shrugged my shoulders and struggled to maintain eye contact with her, her eyes scanning my face, reading me like a book.

"You've been off all morning sunshine. Talk to me," she tried again.

"I d-dont know," I stuttered, my chest tight.

"Can mommy do anything to help?" Danielle asked, her lips pouting slightly, her head tilted to the side.

I didn't know what was wrong but I knew that whatever it was, Danielle would be able to make me feel better.

"H-hold?" I asked quietly, twiddling my thumbs  in my lap.

"Come here," she smiled knowingly, standing up and moving to sit down in the corner of the sofa, her legs up and resting along it too.

"Come to mommy," Danielle said calmly, opening her arms and encouraging me to move over to her.

I shuffled closer until she could reach and pull me between her legs, my upper body resting on her front, my head on her chest.

She stroked her fingers through my hair before  dragging her nails up and down my back.

"When's mama back?" I asked, my fingers playing with the button of Danielle's blue, velvety shirt.

"She won't be long, she's only gone for a few groceries," Danielle explained.

"Is that what's bothering you?" She asked, tilting my chin up to her.

"I don't think so," I shrugged.

"I normally know if that's what's wrong," I added.

"Do you feel sick? Have a headache?" Dani suggested.

"No," I said, shaking my head against her.

"Do you want mommy to go run you a warm bath? See if that helps? Or the hot tub?"
