Find Me / Save Me (Bucky x Reader)

Eighteen

As we approached the Triskelion I was determined. Determined to bring down Hydra, to find Bucky, free him from their control and bring him home. Nothing would get in the way. Nothing. Sam, Steve, Hill and I make our way into the headquarters. The guards we encounter don't even put up a fight. Steve heads to the microphone, addressing all those in SHIELD.

"Attention, all SHIELD agents. This is Steve Rogers. You've heard a lot about me over the last few days, some of you were even ordered to hunt me down. But I think it's time you know the truth. SHIELD is not what we thought it was, it's been taken over by HYDRA. Alexander Pierce is their leader. The STRIKE and Insight crew are HYDRA as well. I don't know how many more, but I know they're in the building. They could be standing right next to you. They almost have what they want: absolute control. They shot Nick Fury and it won't end there. If you launch those Helicarriers today, HYDRA will be able to kill anyone that stands in their way, unless we stop them. I know I'm asking a lot, but the price of freedom is high, it always has been, and it's a price I'm willing to pay. And if I'm the only one, then so be it. But I'm willing to bet I'm not."

I see the determination in Steve's eyes. An unspoken understanding between us. Hydra would fall today. Here and now. "Did you write that down first, or was it off the top of your head?" Sam smirks towards Steve. "What can I say, he's always been the poet of the group?" I laugh as we make our way to launching area.

I hear Hill over the earpiece, "They're initiating launch." Looking at Sam and Steve I smile and say, "Time to get to work boys."

Approaching the helicarries Sam asks, "how do we know the good guys from the bad guys?" Steve grabs his shield from his back and responds, "if they're shooting at you. Then they're the bad guys."

I start making a run for the first helicarrier I see. Steve heads for the second, while Sam takes to the skies. Once on the helicarrier bullets start flying. I use my wings, bocking the bullets. Running to the source, I ram the shooter making him fly off the helicarrier. Were several feet of the ground already, as I continue to push through different armed guards trying to stop me.

I eventually make it to the computer port, chip in hand. I replace one of the chips on the helicarrier with my own. "Alpha lock." I say through the earpiece. I look around, the helicarrier is already several hundred feet off the ground.

"Bravo lock." I hear Steve say.

"Two down, one to go." Hill answers back.

"Sam, I need a lift." I hear Steve call out and I reply quickly, "Hey so do I!"

"Cap, let me know when you're ready. I'm close." Sam says into the earpiece. I run to the edge of my helicarrier watching the skies. I see Steve jump from his helicarrier in the distance. "I just did!"

Thankfully Sam catches Steve, dropping him on the last helicarrier. "Sam! Come get me!" I say, readying myself to jump. "Shit! Hold on! Wait don't jump!" I hear Sam yell too late as I already jumped over the edge.

Free falling down, I look around me for Sam. "Come on Sam! I'm falling here!" All of a sudden, I'm scooped up bridal style by Sam, who caught me just in time. "(Y/N) I said to wait god dammit! Do you seriously have a death wish or something?" I give him a kiss on the cheek and playfully joke, "aww my hero!"

He shakes his head in annoyance making our way to the third helicarrier. As we reach the top of the helicarrier, just before Sam can make a landing we're yanked back. I'm sent tumbling down the tarmac of the helicarrier.

I look back to check on Sam, when I see what pulled us back. Bucky. Sam is trying to fly out of his grasp, but Bucky pulls on the wing. Causing it to break. Sam lunges at him, but it's too late. He grabs him and throws him off the helicarrier. "Sam!" I run to the edge, relief washing over me seeing a parachute open.
