Bucky's POV

As I am nearing Visions location I feel a shift in the air. The wind picks up and a sudden unease falls over me. It chills me to the core. I close my eyes for a split second, praying that my Angel is safe, praying that we will make it out of this okay.

I hear Steve call out through the comms. "Everyone, on my position. We have incoming." This is it. This is the fight for our lives. For my family.

As I near Steve's location I can hear Natasha murmur, "What the hell?"

Out of nowhere blue clouds open in the middle of the clearing, a purple giant walking through them, appearing out of nowhere. I hear Bruce speak up, "Cap. That's him." Thanos. His name is Thanos. He is your target.

"Eyes up. Stay sharp." Steve calls out as we all prepare to fight. It all happens so fast.

One by one everyone gets their turn, and one by one we fail. Bruce gets buried into stone. Steve is sent flying far down the field. T'Challa is grabbed like a doll and tossed away. Sam flies in, guns blazing, but his suit is tampered with, causing him to crash.

In the far distance I watch Wanda and Vision. I can see the pain in her eyes. They're saying their goodbyes. It's the only way now to prevent global catastrophy. To give her time, we continue our attempts to slow the giant.

Rhodey comes flying in, weapons firing, but Thanos crushes his armor and tosses him aside. Taking my opportunity I run at the giant, firing my gun, hoping I can get in a hit. The thoughts of my Angel and Sarah in the forefront of my mind. But he tosses me aside with a flick of his wrist. I hit a tree hard and black out.

When I come to again, I look around and see Wanda hunched over Visions body, her sobs breaking me. Thanos approaches her, petting her on the head. "I understand, my child. Better than anyone."

"You could never..." Wanda snarls at him, pain and anguish swirling in her voice.

"Today, I lost more than you can know. But now is no time to mourn. Now... is no time at all."

Right before our very eyes, he brings Vision back. He turned back time? The Mind Stone now fully returned and Vision alive again.

"NO!" Wanda yells out, lunging to protect Vision, but Thanos swats her away easily. Just as easily he rips the Mind Stone from Vision's head, tossing his lifeless body to the side. He places the stone in his metal glove, as he screams at the action as if it causes him pain.

My throat closes at the thought of what this means. I've failed. We're going to lose. I'm scared.

Breaking me out of my thoughts is the sound of thunder and a flash of lightning. It throws Thanos' balance off. Thor is here. And for the second time today I feel relief in his arrival, hope surges through me.

Thor raises his axe and hurls it at Thanos, who tries to deflect it, with no avail. The axe pierces him in the chest.

"I told you. You'd die for that!" Thor screams at him while holding Thanos behind his head, pushing his axe further into his chest, causing the giant to cry out in pain. I smile at the sound, the Soldier in me takes glee in the sounds of his pain.

Weakly Thanos looks up at Thor and says "You should have... you..." After another breath he sounds stronger, "You should have gone for the head!"

His metal gloved hand raises, and he snaps his fingers. A blinding white light erupting from the source. Blinding me momentarily.

"NO!" I hear Thor yell, but it seems far away.

Time feels suspended.

Sarah. My Sarah. How I want to hear your giggles, how I long for your hug. My Angel. Where are you doll? Please be okay. Let our baby be okay. I miss you. I long for you.

I'm sorry I failed you.

As the white blinding light fades I hear Thor clearly again.

"What'd you do? WHAT DID YOU DO?!"

But without another word he disappears. Something in me doesn't feel right. I slowly get up on my feet. I need to find Steve, I need help. Something isn't right.

I hear Steve's voice and go to it. "Where'd he go? Thor... where'd he go?"

I call out to him. "Steve?" I look down to my hands and feel them fading away, I glance at Steve's face, horror written in his features. I try to take a step forward, but feel myself fading and crumbling away. I whisper into the air their names, my girls, before the world goes black.

Steve's POV

I watch Bucky disappear before my very eyes, a pile of ash in his place. Looking around it's happening everywhere. I hear the cries of those fading away and of those watching in horror. I feel like throwing up, my mind then shouts out for Natasha. Looking around I find relief to see her standing next to me, horror clearly written in her face as well.

-.-.-.-

I finally found my footing again, and checked on Tony, Peter, Strange and the rest of the gang. The feeling around us is thick with failure. It's a somber mood.

Softly I hear Mantis speak, "Something's happening." Just as she says it, she disintegrates right before our very eyes. Ash floating in the wind. Drax follows right after, calling to Quill in fear.

Quill turns to us, horror written in his face. Tony stands up, grunting from the pain, staring at the panicking man. "Steady Quill."

"Aw, man." He says softly right before he too blows away in the wind. I fear tears falling down my face. "What is this?" I turn to Strange and he looks at both me and Tony.

"Tony, there was no other way." He looks at me one last time, something I quite can't place in his eyes. Then he vanishes into the air.

My heart shatters when I hear Peter's voice. "Mr. Stark? I don't feel so good..."

Tony's voice is shaking as we both run up to Peter. "You're all right?"

He looks at both of us terrified before he stumbles into Tony's arms.

"I don't know what's -- I don't know what's happening. I don't—" He turns to me and grabs my hand tightly. His body is trembling with fear. "I don't wanna go, I don't wanna go, Mr. Stark, please. Mrs. Barnes, please, I don't wanna go. I don't wanna go..."

He looks at both of us, his shaking subsiding before speaking again. "I'm sorry." His hand slips from mine, becoming ash and floating away in the wind. Tony grabs onto the air, falling slightly forward at the loss of Peter in his arms. He looks into his hands in disbelief.

I feel tears falling faster down my face as I hear Nebula say, "He did it."

A pain courses through me at that moment, causing me to bend over, clutching my stomach.

Tony snaps out of his shock and immediately grabs a hold of me. "No Tink, no. Please. No."

I try to find my voice. To tell him it's not what he thinks it is. But the pain is to great. I can feel the warm pooling between my legs and running down my thighs. I bite back another wave of pain, and swallow the yell, to come out more like sobs.

"Tink. Talk to me. What's happening. Please." His voice is laced with concern and fear. Finally finding my voice, as the swell of pain fades I bring up my face and look at him. "I'm losing it..."

Tony shakes his head, confused and scared. Choking another sob, I find the strength to say the words. "I'm losing the baby..." Just then another wave of pain hits me, and I bend down again, unable to see Tony's reaction.

We lost. I lost. I'm losing our – Bucky... I...

-.-.-.-

Steve's POV

I turn over Vision's body, and the sight nearly makes me sick to my stomach.

Rhodey comes up behind me. "What is this? What the hell is happening?"

We lost. Tony. (Y/)N. The only words I can muster fall out of me, practically as a sob. "Oh, God."
