A/N: I am so sorry it's taken me a bit longer to get my chapters out! I am currently going through IVF, and have been taking it a bit slower than usual! But I am still loving this story, I hope you enjoy this new chapter!

Steve's POV

It was like a bad nightmare. Watching her on the bed so pale and still. Watching Bucky become a shell of a man staring through a window at his whole life before him. It was painful to even imagine a worse outcome. When the doctor finally let us in the room, Bucky collapsed in a chair by her side, his hand cupping one of hers like a lifeline. It was like he didn't register us in the room at all.

Pulling her hand to his face he broke down, wet sobs escaping from him. We all stood there silently, unsure of what to do. Natasha curled into my body at the whole sight, small sobs escaping from her. I could hear Wanda crying somewhere behind me. Tony looked tired and defeated in the back corner of the room, his head hanging in shame. Sam approached Bucky cautiously, placing a hand on his shoulder, hoping he could comfort him in some way. But Bucky didn't even register him.

He continued to cry, and then he started to talk. "Please angel. Please wake up. I'm sorry baby, I was stupid. Please. Please..." He then took his free hand and softly placed it on her belly, and we all held our breaths collectively. "A baby. Our baby. Please (Y/N). Wake up. I need you. Our baby needs you." His face then shifts to her belly and suddenly I feel like we're all intruding in a private moment. He leans in close to her belly and whispers "Mommy's got you little one. She's trying so hard to take care of you... so please... just hold on baby. Fight for mommy and me." His lips touch her belly and I know it's time we need to go.

Making eye contact with everyone, they immediately understand. Silently they all leave as I approach Bucky one last time. "Buck?"

He slowly lifts his head to meet my gaze, his eyes red and glossy. "Stevie..." His voice is broken, I can hear the pain and sorrow in his voice. I reach out and squeeze his shoulder. "She's going to be okay Buck. (Y/N) is going to pull through." He nods, looking back to her again. "I can't lose her Stevie. I can't. I won't be able to survive..."

Squeezing his shoulder once more I firmly reply, "You won't. She's fighting Buck."

He nods silently at my words. His eyes never leaving her. "We're going to give you some time with her. We're right outside Buck, you're not alone. Call out for us if you need anything. I'll be back soon." He silently nods again at my words, and I slowly walk away, knowing he needs some time alone.

Once I close the door though I can hear his heartbreaking sobs again, worse than any we've seen so far. My heart aches remembering cries very similar to these the day I saw (Y/N) after we thought Bucky had died from the train fall. This time, I run into Natasha's arms and finally shed a few tears of my own.

After I let it all out. After I could finally think logically. Something inside me snapped. Pulling away from Natasha's embrace I ask sternly. "Where is Tony?"

Her face, tear streaked and puffy suddenly changes and becomes the stoic face she usually shows the rest of the world. "Steve..." she warns me softly.

I shake my head and ask again, "Where is he?"

She sighs before she speaks again, "I think he went to the lab." Her face is composed, but her eyes speak volumes. She's begging me, pleading. But I ignore it. I give her a quick peck on the cheek and storm towards the lab.

When I get there I find Tony slumped over a desk, glass in hand full of a dark rich amber liquid. Anger rises in me, seeing him sitting there so calmly, while I know Buck is suffering not far away.
