Forty-Four

I let my usual glow surround my body, my wings spreading open to either side of my body. I feel the sunshine down on me and can't help but feel just perfect in that exact moment. The serum in my veins making everything warm.

Looking at Tony I see he's still waiting expectantly. "What?"

"I'm waiting for the other stuff. I know you've got more. We all saw it." I looked at Tony and sighed.

"I haven't done anything like that since the battle. I don't know if I can do it again Tony."

Wanda then spoke up softly. "Just close your eyes. Focus. It'll come to you."

Sighing I closed my eyes, letting my mind wonder a little. A part of me was scared, scared of what these new powers could mean. Scared of the visions the mind stone had shown me before. I was scared to lose myself, just as everything had fallen back into place. But I pushed back that fear. I focused on the good I accomplished in Sokovia, how I just knew I had to fix everything and did so naturally.

Pushing through my mind, I found it. It hit me like a fire, burning through my body quickly. I could see it again. My friends, dead. Their bodies splayed everywhere among rubble. No. Not this. Anything but this. I could see Tony. Steve. Bucky. No. My chest felt tight. I couldn't breathe.

Then the same colored stones I had previously seen, appeared in my vision. Each one shining brightly, ominous. I feel a sense of dread as they surround me, flashes of light blinding me. I want to scream, to get it to stop. But I can't, I'm voiceless, silence consumes everything. Then everything stills.

I open my eyes hesitantly, scared of what I may encounter when I do. Half expecting destruction, half expecting nothing at all. But when I finally open my eyes, I find myself staring out into the open air. No Tony, Wanda, or Vision in front of me. Suddenly scared I glance around and realize I am several feet in the air, far from where I once was.

Relief washes over me once I get my bearings. "Hey Tony... how's everything looking?" I scream down to him below.

His face is in complete awe as he fiddles with his phone. "Looking good Tink! I think you can come down now!" As I was about to figure out how to come down, and alert went off on Tony's phone. My senses, now on high alert scan the area instinctively.

I notice Sam, in his suit on the roof of the compound. My body feels a rush of adrenaline, the new power flaring and firing around me in whisps on yellow fire. Dammit. I wish I had my suit. At the thought, it materialized on me, replacing my clothes with my suit. I could feel the fire urging me to act, pulling me towards Sam. Before I even knew it, I landed there next to him on the roof.

"What is it Sam?" I ask as I stand next to him.

"We had a sensor trip. But I don't see anything. Wait a second..."

Before Sam can say anything else, I scan the area, my vision homing in on... a tiny man? "I can see you." I said to him, still unsure how the heck I could see him in the first place.

Then he grows, back to a normal size and waves at Sam and I. "Hi I'm Scott."

"What are you doing here?" Sam asks, somewhat baffled by the fact this game seemingly came out of thin air.

"First off, I'm a big fan..." the man, who introduced himself as Scott said. I could hear everyone asking Sam what was going on. I shake my head at him, hopefully he understands we don't need more backup.

"Appreciate it. So who the hell are you?" Sam replied, I could feel the rest of the team gearing up, getting ready. I shake my head and sigh.

"I'm Ant-Man."
