Twenty-Five

Tony's POV

I can't. It's too much. I feel responsible for what she's going through. I didn't try hard enough and now she's suffering.

"They broke her..." His voice snaps me back. The soldier looks broken, as if his world has shattered. A part of me pities him, he's known nothing but pain. After all of our sessions, I have personally seen it. This has to end. I have to find (Y/N).

Looking back at the screen I can't help but think of the girl that had entered the room and turned on (Y/N).

"Who's the girl with the glowing hands?" I say getting up from my seat, impatient to wait for an answer.

"We have no idea. We searched the usual databases." Sam replied.

"Okay bird brain. Let's see what I can do... JARVIS run facial recognition." I start mindlessly tapping the desk as I wait. Something... I need something. We need to save her.

"Facial recognition complete." JARVIS replies.

"Okay show me what you got!" I see something that catches my eye. "Well lookie here... what's this??" I enlarge a picture of the girl in the middle of a protest. "Wanda Maximoff and she's got a brother Pietro Maximoff. Twins. Orphaned at ten when a shell collapsed their apartment building. Sokovia's had a rough history. It's nowhere special but... didn't we hear intel about a base in Sokovia?" I spin around to look at Natasha.

Natasha's eyes widen as she runs to the screen and enlarges the image of a supposed Hydra base in Sokovia. "Looks like Sokovia is on its way to becoming somewhere special now." Natasha smirked, hope flashing in her eyes.

"I'm coming this time." We turned to see the soldier, determination and rage in his eyes.

The Cap speaks up, of course, "Buck, maybe that's not a good idea..." I clap my hands together, gathering the attention of everyone. "Why the heck not?" I walk up to Barnes and pat him in the back. "Welcome to the Avengers. Now everyone gets your stupid costumes on, this bad boy is going to take his new suit for a spin. Let's get (Y/N) back home."

Bucky's POV

"Shit!" I hear Tony over the earpiece, he just flew into an invisible wall covering the base.

"Language! JARVIS, what's the view from upstairs?" I hear Steve call out while he passes me on his motorcycle.

"The central building is protected by some kind of energy shield. Strucker's technology is well beyond any other HYDRA base we've taken." JARVIS replies. I'm trying to get through as many guards as I can, trying to make my way closer to the base.

"Loki's scepter must be here. Strucker couldn't mount this defense without it. At long last." Thor says over the earpiece. That was all the confirmation I needed to move quicker. I'm coming doll.

"Hate to break it to you boys, but at long last may be taking too long..." I watch Natasha in the distance drop kick a guard, I shoot the one coming up behind her. She turns to me and raises her eyebrow with a smirk.

"Yeah, I think we lost the element of surprise..." Clint says.

"Wait a second. No one else is going to deal with the fact that Cap just said "language?" I can hear the joking tone in Tony's voice. Oh he's going to keep that over Steve's head forever.

"I know." I hear a huge sigh and an explosion from the earpiece. "It just slipped out." I couldn't help but laugh, I heard Sam cracking up as well.

"Sir the city is taking fire..." JARVIS announces. "On it!" Sam yells out. "Send in the Iron Legion to assist bird man." Tony commands.

We keep fighting our way through, it's taking longer than anticipated. This base is extremely well guarded. We must be in the right place. I keep making my way through all the guards.
