Typically, if your day starts in an alley, it's a bad day.

Not today. They may have just been shoved through time and barely made it through the horrendous future they had just come from, but they made it. Even if shortly after they arrived they passed out on a pile of garbage

As Emilie woke up, she immediately looked to her right.

Thank Goodness she thought. He made it

She then grabbed his shoulders.

"Thomas," she said, trying to wake him. "Thomas, get up"

The young man awoke with a stir. "Ugh," he said with grogginess."Did we make it? Are we here?"

Emilie then pulled out the smartphone she had brought with her. Archaic well before she was born, but at this time it was very advanced.

"According to this, It's September of 2018. We made it to just the right time."

Emilie then reached into her pocket and found the element essential to their plan. Two jewelry boxes. Both were black and had strange red markings on the lid, but like all jewelry boxes, it's what's on the inside that counts. She opened the first one and thankfully they were still there. A pair of circular earrings, with a design like that of a ladybug...

SWOOSH. As soon as she had opened the box, a bright light swirled around the box until it materialized into a strange creature, one which looked like a combination of a ladybug and a mouse.

"Emilie?" the Kwami asked. "What's going on? Where's Marinette? And Adrien?"

"She didn't make it Tikki," Emilie responded sorrowfully. "She was captured. But don't worry. Once we track down Hawk Moth we can reverse what happened."

Tikki looked like she was about to cry. "If only I hadn't been forced out when I did," She began to sob. "Maybe Marinette would be ok and we wouldn't have to be here."

Thomas took the Kwami in his hand and comforted her. "It'll be ok Tikki. I promise that I'll get her back."

The Kwami then hugged him, her tears soaking into his shirt. "Thank you, Thomas. Please, please get her back for me" Emilie then smiled as she put the earrings on. "Don't you worry Tikki. Before you know it she'll be baking those cookies you like"

Thomas was less excited about his own box. "Let's hope he's a little better."

He opened the second box to reveal a black ring with a green paw in the center. As he opened it another flash of light appeared, and from it formed a black Kwami with bright green eyes.

Plagg yawned as he woke up. "Well, that was a nice little nap. Can I have Camembert now?"

He then looked around. "Wait, kids? Is that you? Where's Adrien?"

Emilie then explained the situation. But instead of sadness, Plagg looked more distressed.

"So he went and got himself captured again? That old fool. He's always been too stubbornly brave. Ever since day one. And now he's gotten himself into huge trouble!"

"Listen Plagg," Emilie said. "If we are gonna free him and everyone else we need to work together." Her brother put on the ring and pulled out a piece of horrible-smelling cheese. "If we're gonna do this Plagg, we need to keep our strength up."

"I just hope this will work." Plagg said, eating the cheese. Plagg's eyes suddenly lit up with excitement. "Wait, if we're in the past right now, does that mean that I can have real cheese again? From a cow? Not the synthetic stuff that's grown in a lab but real cheese?!"

"If we have time we'll get you some'' Emilie said. "But first we need to stay focused." She then gestured to Thomas and the two looked out from the alleyway where they were. They looked to be near the park where they had played or will play in the future from their location. She remembered how their parents had taken them on the Merry Go Round when they were young. She remembered the picnics that they had shared where they would laugh and play games while slowly eating away at a giant plate of fresh Macaroons, slowly getting stomach aches. Those were simpler times, back when she and Thomas had been younger before Louis had gone to college and before everything went crazy...
