Part 40: The Return of the Dragon

Cat Blanc looked up to see Hawk Moth, the original Hawk Moth, grinning evilly, his cane planted firmly on his chest. Next to him was a woman with blue skin and a dress decorated with feathers. It took him a minute to recognize her as Mayura, the current wielder of the Peacock Miraculous. He readied his Cataclysm to destroy them both in one go.

No! Hugo said. Don't kill them! Focus on destroying the Mouse Miraculous!

Cat Blanc seethed in anger. "Was this your plan?!" he said to Micromouse. "To distract me long enough to have them come and defeat me?!"

"No Thomas! I didn't know they were coming! I swear!"

"You're LYING!" he said. He then jumped up, kicking Hawk Moth square in the chest and knocking him back. He then charged towards Emilie with a cataclysm, aiming for her necklace. He screamed in anger before...

"Cataclysm!" Chat Noir said, jumping out from the side. He was aiming for Blanc's hand, but was a second too late and hit him in the ribs. Cat Blanc quickly fell over in pain and hit the ground; his white cataclysmic turning over 20 meters of debris to ash.

Cat Noir quickly moved the rubble covering Emilie's feet and let her loose.

"Thank you, Chat Noir," she said, dusting herself off.

"Whatever you need, my dear," he said while attempting to kiss her hand. She quickly pulled away. He shrugged it off and took a fighting stance. "So what's the plan?" he inquired

"We just need to hold off these two until Ladybug arrives with the rest of the Miraculous holders," she said. "Once we do that, we can de-akumatize Thomas and take down these two."

"Sounds like a plan!" he said.

"I won't let you stop me, Chat Noir!" Hawk Moth said. "I'm going to take this Akuma victim and get the Miraculous! Then I'm going to force him to give me the Ladybug Miraculous and I will finally get my wish!"

The two pairs then charged at each other and began combat, Micromouse against Mayura and Cat Noir against Hawk Moth. While Hawk Moth and Mayura were stronger than them, they were more agile. The fight was brief but intense as fists and weapons were thrown and used to attack. Eventually, Hawk Moth and Cat Noir forced each other into a grapple.

"Don't you see Chat Noir?" Hawk Moth growled. "I'm only trying to claim what's mine from the future Hawk Moth. You don't need to interfere!"

"You're trying to hurt Chat Blanc!" he responded. "He may be a villain, but he's still my friend! I won't let you take his Miraculous and do something clawful with it!"

The Cat's clever quip allowed for him to take an opportunistic attack at his opponents' legs, sweeping him off his feet and laying him prone.

"This is it for you, Hawk Moth," he said, holding his staff to the villain's chin.

The villain just grinned. "Is it now?" Chat Noir looked down to see his ring beeping, three of the paw marks gone on his Miraculous.

"You'll transform back in a few minutes and then Mayura and I will overcome your little mouse friend. I'll take both yours and her Miraculous! Checkmate Chat Noir!"

Chat Noir didn't want to admit it, but he was right. He was cornered. Micromouse wasn't doing much better. Mayura was easily overpowering her. It was doubtful she would last more than a few minutes. At this point, it would take a miracle to save them.

Milady Cat Noir thought. Please help us

Suddenly, wind billowed around them, and pushed away Mayura, throwing her away from the fight. The wind then gathered together in one place, forming into a person with a red suit and dark hair; her mask decorated with horns that pushed back her jet-black hair. In her right hand was a matching red sword, poised to attack.

"Sorry, I'm late," Ryuko said. "The Minotaur villain was tougher than expected. The others should be here soon."
