Emilie and Thomas looked down from the glass rooftop of Le Grand Paris. It was packed to the brim with people in clothes that probably cost more than their house in the future.

"Are you ready for this?" Emilie said to Thomas. "Remember we need to keep a lookout for Hawk Moth and anybody who could be akumatized."

"How are we even gonna find him?" Thomas said. "We don't know what he looks like."

"Maybe not, but this has all the hallmarks of his interference," Emilie said. "A big crowd, lots of potential escape routes, not to mention that this whole thing was planned and set up in less than 24 hours. Not just anyone could do that."

Thomas nodded. "We'll need to be quick. Meet me at the main entrance in 20 minutes."

"Remember," Emilie said. "Look for a purple jewel. It could be on anyone."

"Alright. Let's go."

The siblings then jumped down to a side door where they quickly changed back to their normal selves.

"Hmm, you look nice," Thomas said, noticing his mother's work.

"You sound surprised."

Thomas looked embarrassed. "Well, I mean, you do normally, look nice that is and with that dress, you look especially nice." He then gave an awkward smile.

Emilie rolled her eyes and opened the side door and entered the party. The room was uncomfortably warm and was given music by a string quartet. Thomas took to the tables to keep his promise. He chose a piece of Langres and fed it to Plagg in his jacket, who enjoyed it with gusto.

"Langres huh?" a voice behind him said. "I've always preferred Camembert myself."

Thomas looked behind him to see Adrien with a glass of sparkling cider.

"Camembert?" Thomas said. "After all you know who eats? I'd think he'd turn you away from it."

"What can I say? He's rubbed off on me."

Adrien then took a piece of Camembert and started to chat with Thomas.

"So, what do you think of the spread? It's fairly extravagant considering it was put together last minute."

Thomas couldn't agree more. Besides every type of cheese, you could think of, there were also macaroons, brioche buns, hor'dourves, truffles, goose pâté, and even a crepé station.

"Yes, it really is." Thomas drank a glass of sparkling cider. "This is just like him, you know. He always likes to throw events like this. It allows him to hide in plain sight."

"Well, it shouldn't be a big deal if you know what he looks like."

"I wish we did. But we don't know what he looks like yet, only the previous Ladybug and Cat Noir have actually seen his face."

"I see," Adrien said. "Well, if there's anything else, feel free to tell me. It was nice seeing you, Tom."

Tom? Thomas thought. Adrien then shook his hand and walked away.

That was weird Thomas thought. He knows I go by Thomas, and he didn't offer to help me as Chat Noir...

He opened his blazer. "Plagg, did Adrien seem weird to..."

He paused. Plagg wasn't in his suit jacket. But even more disturbing was the fact that the Langres he'd given Plagg was only half-eaten. He looked at his hand in shock as he found his ring, his Miraculous, was gone.

Oh no Thomas thought. Plagg, where did you go?
