As rain poured down the London streets in the night, Félix was wide awake. Most people would be asleep at this ungodly hour, but Félix was not most people. He was currently in his family's study, reading The Count of Monte Cristo. He'd read the book several times before, but he always enjoyed tales of revenge. As he sat in an armchair with only a solitary desk lamp for light, Félix's phone rang. Exasperated, he shut his book and picked up his phone.

"Hello, this is Félix Graham de Vanily."

"Hello Félix," Hugo said. "My name is Hugo. I have a proposal for you. How would you like the Twin Rings of the Vanily family?"

Félix was intrigued. "If you know what they are then you know I already have one of them. Why would I agree to help you? And without proof?"

Suddenly, a notification appeared on Félix's screen, he looked and found a picture of the ring in someone's hand, presumably this Hugo's.

"Proof enough for you?" Hugo said. "If you want it I can give it back to you and give you what you truly desire, for a price."

"How did you get it? I doubt my uncle just gave it to a random stranger."

"Gabriel is many things but he's not an intellectual genius," Hugo said. "You were the one who found it so easy to steal. I simply followed your technique to get it."

"What is it exactly you want from me?" Félix inquired

"Let's just say I have a plan in the works that I would like to include you in. If you agree, I'll give you this ring, and if you desire it, revenge on Ladybug and Cat Noir."

"And what's the price of this endeavor?"

"You'll need to come to Paris on the next train. I'll explain more here."

"How can I trust you?"

Another picture showed up in his notifications. A picture of a hand with a purple jewel that looked like a butterfly.

"The butterfly Miraculous. I'm sure you're aware of how it works? I say the magic words, I turn into Hawk Moth, and then I turn someone into a superbeing. Fairly simple to understand"

"So you're Hawk Moth then?" Félix said

"So what if I am? There's no proof, no leverage, and no name. Hugo is a pseudonym of you will, and I doubt anyone will be able to trace this call. And if I'm lying you have nothing to lose except a few days in Paris and your pride."

Hugo was then quiet for a brief moment."I'll give you until noon tomorrow. Come to me with your answer then. You can call back at this number."

"I only have one question," Félix said. "Why reach out to me, of all people? You're in Paris, you have access to thousands of others. So why call a young boy in London?"

"Simple. You have potential Félix. A grand destiny awaits you. And with it, your greatest desire will come true."

The phone then hung up. Félix then started packing a bag. His family needed those rings back, and he was going to get them. And if he had to go through Hawk Moth to do it, then so be it.
