Miraculous: Tales of Ms. Ladybug and Tom Cat

Part 42: The Burrow

Fortunately, the heroes' squad contained several time travelers. As Viperion saw the white ball of energy encompass Cat Blanc, he immediately used his second chance.

"Well, I don't. Now, you're all going to be defeated at my hand. And when all of you are gone, I'll finally be the strongest! I can prove to the world that I'm strong enough to have every Miraculous and overcome every challenge!"

Viperion saw his chance and ran to Bunyx. "Bunyx! Enter your Burrow! You need to go back and..."

Suddenly the Cataclysm began to destroy things again, so he had to use his power again

"Second chance!" he called as he pulled his bracelet back.

Suddenly he was where he was two minutes ago when Cat Blanc was monologuing.

"Bunyx! You need to open your Burrow!" he called. He then attempted to jump on top of Cat Blanc, only to miss and get hit with a cataclysm. Luckily he was able to pull his bracelet back.

"Second Chance!"

This lasted for what would've been days for a normal person. He'd attempt to warn Bunyx, then take on Cat Blanc. He tried countless outcomes, everything from attacking from the front to getting help from other Miraculous holders. But nothing worked.

I can't give up! he thought. Ladybug and the others are counting on me to save them. So I need to keep going.

After days worth of attempts he was finally was able to warn Bunyx in time. She quickly responded and opened up a white portal.

"Burrow!" she called, the portal opening behind her. Quickly, Viperion tackled her into it and entered a room with dozens of portals leading to various places throughout history. Viperion looked through some of them and saw dinosaurs, ancient armies, flying trains, and other bizarre and unusual scenes from the past, present, and future.

"Woah," Viperion said. "This place is awesome!"

His eyes were suddenly covered by a bowl that had been lying around.

"Hey!" he called. "What's this for?"

"Sorry Viperion, but Ladybug told me that we can't know too much about the future, or else it could disturb the flow of time."

"But, isn't that what we want?" Viperion replied, "To disturb time so that we can stop the villain?"

"True," Bunyx said, "but like, you can't know too much about your own destiny. Like, what if you were to discover who you were gonna fall in love with. You'd approach them with that knowledge and most likely mess something up, which would cause the timeline to change.

Viperion thought about this. "So what we need to do is go back maybe 10 minutes before Chat Blanc and Hawk Moth show up. If we can do that, then we have enough time to prevent him from destroying Paris"

Bunyx nodded. "Alright then. We'll need to be quick though. As soon as we enter we'll need to..."

Her sentence was interrupted by a sudden transformation. Viperion hadn't been paying attention and his Miraculous had run out of energy. As the snakehead on his bracelet quickly returned to its original position, he quickly changed back into Luka.  

Bunyx just looked shocked. "Luka?! Luka Coffaine?"

Sheepishly he put his hand to his neck. "Uh, yeah. Sorry about that. I guess I wasn't paying attention and  my time ran out."

Bunyx didn't know how to respond.

"This is so weird! I mean, I know your sister! It's crazy to think that Juleka's brother is a hero just like me! Wait, does this mean that Ladybug knows both of us?! Could she be one of the girls?! What if..."

"Bunyx!" Luka said, grabbing her shoulders and shaking her back to reality. "We need to stay focused on our plan if it's gonna succeed."

Bunyx nodded.

"Now, I need to transform. Sazz scales,"

"Wait masssster!" the snake Kwami said, interrupting Luka's transformation. "I need to recharge first! Or else you won't be at full power and I'll starve."

Luka took a better look at the Kwami. He looked fatigued and could barely keep his eyes open. He started to wheeze as his stomach growled up a storm.

"Oh! I'm so sorry Sazz!" he said. "I didn't realize...Is there anything I can do?"

"Yessss." the Kwami said. "I just need a moment to rest, and if you have anything to eat I'd be eternally grateful."

Luka looked through his pockets. "Here's all I got," he said, offering the remains of a candy bar he'd been eating earlier. The Kwami quickly accepted the snack and ate the chocolate and nuts with gusto.

Seeing that his Kwami was situated, Luka looked around to see Bunyx attempting to find the right portal to enter.

"Not this one," she said. "Not this one. Maybe? No, not this one." She moved over to one and her expression changed from frustration to curiosity. "Luka," she said. "Come take a look at this." Luka walked over to see what Bunyx was referring to. He looked inside the portal. It was the two people he'd seen on his family's barge earlier, the siblings from Juleka and Marinette's school. However, the scene they were in was pretty grim. They were both in distress as they looked over jewelry boxes, ones nearly identical to the one he'd been given earlier today. But they left, the boy was crying as he went climbed up through a sewer grate to the street level. The girl pushed on and helped him up.

"What does this mean?" Luka asked.

"Is that, Chat Blanc? Is he the one who got akumatized and turned in to Chat Blanc?"

Luka took a closer look. "I think so," he said. "His hair is in a similar style. Not to mention that he's about the right age." 

 "So he's actually from the future," Bunyx said. "Along with Micromouse!"

"But how did they get here?" Luka asked. "And why did they come back?"

Bunyx looked deep in thought. "I don't know, but I think I can figure it out." she then put her hand to the portal and moved the image backward, reversing the image to the events leading right up to it...
