Emilie couldn't remember the last time she'd had this much fun.
The sleepover was super fun. The girls tried on clothes that Marinette had designed, they are fresh cookies from the bakery, and they played Super Battle Mech 3. Emilie had always been good at the game, as she'd had one of the world's best players for a mother and a rival. But no matter how much she played or practiced, her mother was unstoppable when she picked up the controller.
"Okay! Final Round!" Alya said, imitating an MC, "Emilie versus Marinette. Winner takes all. The loser will get eternal shame and the winner eternal glory."
Emilie looked Marinette in the eye. She wasn't about to lose; at least easily.
"MATCH START!" The game sprang into high gear as both competitors fought for victory. One slammed the other followed by retaliation from her opponent. It looked like Emilie had Marinette on the ropes when...
BOOM!
The ground shook as the group recovered from the shock.
"What was that?!" Mylien said, looking out the window. Suddenly the window burst open and rose bushes flooded the room, growing at incredible speed.
As the rose bushes flooded the room, every girl was grabbed by a set of rose bush vines and pulled out of the room; either through the window or through the door.
Rose bushes? Emilie thought. But this isn't supposed to happen until,
Emilie then had a horrible realization.
"Marinette!" she shouted, "Marinette where are you?!"
"Uh, I'm right over here!" Marinette shouted. "But don't worry! I'm gonna get some help!"
Emilie knew she had to keep her mother here at all costs. "NO!, uh, Help me! I think I hurt my arm!"
Marinette suddenly tried to reach in and grab her hand but was unsuccessful. Please. Emilie thought. Please don't go.
Marinette finally grabbed Emilie's hand and was able to pull her up to the balcony. "You should be ok now. I'm gonna try to find some help."
"Please," Emilie said, grabbing Marinette's hand. "Don't go. You won't make it alone."
"Trust me," Marinette said. "Everything is going to be ok."
As she looked into her mother's eyes she was suddenly a little kid again, her mother comforting her whenever she felt down or sad. Because no matter what the situation, whatever the threat, her Mom could make it better.
She snapped back to reality to find that Marinette had already left. She even looked up and saw Ladybug swinging from building to building.
"This is bad," Emilie said. "Very bad. Tikki," she said to the Kwami. "I know we have to avoid changing the past but if we do nothing now my parents could be defeated!"
"I remember this villain," Tikki said. "Thomas would know more but I think the Akuma is in her hat."
"Thanks," Emilie said. She then took a deep breath and said the magic words.
"Tikki, Spots on!"
In a flash, Tikki disappeared into her earrings and she began to change. A stylish jumpsuit appeared on her body with a red yo-yo on her waist. Her hair was pulled into a long ponytail and a red mask with black spots appeared on her face. She was ready. She was the future. She was Ladybug.
She took her yo-yo and swung into the night.
