Miraculous: Tales of Ms. Ladybug and Tom Cat

Part 67- One Last Secret

Thanks to all of their efforts, the other holders were able to beat Hawk Moth and Mayura.

"You think you can hold me forever?!" Hawk Moth prime screamed, banging his fist against Carapace's shield. "I'll get out eventually and make all of you brats pay!"

"Not likely Hawk Moth," Rena Rouge said. "If I know my boyfriend, he'll hold you until the sun goes out if it means stopping you,"

Carapace blushed. "You're too sweet Rena," he said

"Wait!" Bugmouse said, swinging over to the other holders.

"Micromouse!" King Monkey said excitedly. "Do you see? We stopped him!"

"That's great," she said, "But we have to let them go,"

The crowd of holders shouted out in protest. 

"We can't let him go!" Carapace said

"Don't you know who this is?!" Rena Rouge interjected.

"He's attacked Paris and hurt our friends!" Pegasus replied

The other heroes continued to protest until Tom Cat spoke up. "Listen!" he shouted. He then took a deep breath to calm down. "Look, Hawk Moth isn't supposed to be caught yet. If we don't let him and Mayura go, Bugmouse and I could cease to exist." he took the shoulders of Carapace and Rena. "I know it's hard, but you will stop him eventually. Just not today."

The heroes were upset, but understanding. Carapace quickly dropped his shield. 

Bugmouse walked over to the newly liberated Hawk Moth and Mayura. "Take her and leave," 

The villain begrudgingly picked up his partner. "Don't think this is over Ladybug," he said. "The future isn't set in stone. I'll thwart your future and achieve my dreams!" 

He quickly jumped away, his broken partner in his arms.

The heroes quickly went to hiding places to protect their secret identities, and Bugmouse and Tom Cat went about collecting their Miraculous. Tom Cat took the heroes who'd fought Hawk Moth, and Bugmouse went to find Viperion, Bunnyx, and Ryuko, who'd disappeared in the fight. 

 After a few moments of searching, she found the two time travel heroes, near the center of destruction. Alix was comforting Luka as he lamented over his decision

"Take this from me," he said, handing over the bracelet that had caused him so much pain. "I never want to wear it again."

"Listen," Emilie said, holding his hand. "You did what you thought was right. And now Marinette and the rest of Paris are safe."

 She tilted his head up to have him look her in the eye. "Don't give up just yet. You still have a lot more to give to Paris. And to Marinette."

Luka nodded and gave her his bracelet. She then turned to Alix.

"Do I really have to give it up?" she asked. "I already know I'm gonna be Bunnyx one day so can't I keep it?"

"Not just yet Alix," Emilie said. "But one day. You just need to be patient. It's only a matter of time."

Alix gave a smile before handing her watch over. Emilie then went to search for Kagami.

She found Kagami near where the fight with Hawk Moth had taken place. Apparently, she'd used the last of her powers and didn't have any food to feed her kwami. So she'd stayed back until he was captured.

 Kagami handed over her Miraculous. "I wanted to thank you, Emilie," she said. "Because of you, I was able to help Ladybug again and have her trust me."

Emilie's face turned bright red. "Well, y'know it was really nothing."

Kagami grabbed her hands and pulled her close. "I don't suppose...will I ever see you again?"

Emilie hadn't thought about that. "I, I guess not," she said, disappointed. "I have to go back to the future, where you'll be an adult. So I guess, we have to say goodbye." She was crestfallen as she gave this some thought.

"Then I'm sorry to say goodbye," Kagami said, looking Emilie in the eye. "I'm going to miss you,"

If Emilie had a mirror she would easily see that her face was as red as a tomato as Kagami kissed her cheek.

"Until we meet again," Kagami said, walking away.

Emilie blushed incredibly hard, only to hear a disturbance. In horror, she turned to see her brother standing a few feet away, a surprised expression on his face. He

Emilie was suddenly very fearful. "How much of that did you see?" she asked, her voice quivering in fear. 

"Enough," he said. Emilie collapsed on the ground in terror and despair. It was too late, he'd seen everything. She was freaking out. She could never show her face at home again.

Thomas quickly rushed over. "Emilie, are you ok?" he asked.

She was shaking with anxiety. "You weren't supposed to find out like this," she said, tears streaming down her face.

Thomas quickly comforted her, "No no no! It's ok! It's ok! It's ok," he said, trying his best to calm her down. "I'm just, um, surprised. I never thought you were into,"

"What? Girls?" she asked, her voice shaking.

"No," he said. "Tsunderes."

She punched his arm as a smile returned to her face. He didn't hate her, "You idiot," she said. He offered her a hug and she graciously accepted.

"It's really ok sis," he said. The two sat there and hugged until Emilie had dried her tears.

"Wait, is this why you wanted to go to Italy?" he asked. "You didn't want Mom and Dad to know?"

"Well, kinda," she said apprehensively. "I just don't know how they'll react. What if they kick me out, or treat me differently, or..."

"Emilie, that's crazy!" he said. "Do you even know our parents? They'd still love you even if you turned into a fifty-meter tall slug monster that ate garbage!"  Emilie chuckled.

"You're probably right," she said. "I just, don't want to tell them yet. Ok?"

"I understand," he said, an accepting smile on his face, "and whenever you're ready to tell our parents, I'll be there to help you."

Emilie looked over at him. He'd grown up so much. Who was this responsible and caring young man? Was he really still her crazy, geeky little brother who made jokes at the wrong time?

"There's only one thing," he said. "now that I know, could you maybe consider coming home? For real?"

Emilie was unsure. "I'll think about it," she said. "just give me a little time."

Thomas nodded. "ok," he said. 

The two of them got up and compared Miraculous. "Well, I have all of mine," he said. "you got all of yours?"

"Yup," Emilie said. "We should probably go back to Mom,"

"Oh, that's what I forgot!" he said. "Mom and Dad finished talking. They want to see us." 

"What?" Emilie said, punching her brother in the arm. "Why didn't you tell me right away you dork?!"

"Well excuse me, princess!" he said. "I just got a bombshell dropped on me!"

Emilie smiled and gestured to her brother to follow. "C'mon, let's go." She began to walk back in the direction where Marinette and Adrien were. "You're still a dork. You know that right?"

"Yeah I know," he said, a smile on his face.
