Miraculous: Tales of Ms. Ladybug and Tom Cat

Part 29: Micromouse & Adrenus

On the cab ride home, Emilie and Thomas collected their thoughts and formed a plan on what to do next.

"We'll need to get every Miraculous holder," Emilie said "Everyone who's already been given a Miraculous."

"That's still fairly slim compared to the future squad," Thomas said. "I mean, at this point in time, theirs only about eight members, nine if you count Queen Bee."

"Can't we give Miraculous to those who will have them?" Emilie said.

"Not unless we have to. It's different for heroes like Rena Rouge and Carapace, who've had experience being heroes. If we get all the future Miraculous holders, they'll be at about half of their usual strength due to the fact that they're just starting out."

Emilie considered this. "You're right. We'll just have to make do with what we have."

As the cab stopped they got out and went into the bakery.

"Hi!" Mr. Dupain said, already making dough for the next day. "How was the party?"

"It was good," Emilie said. "But we're really tired and we really need to go to sleep so goodnight!" she then grabbed Thomas by the wrist and dragged him up the stairs to Marinette's room.

"Marinette!" Emilie said, "We have a problem!"

Emilie froze as her mother looked up from a young picture of her father, covered in lip gloss. Marinette quickly hid the picture and wiped her lips.

"Gah! Emilie! Good to see you back!" she said awkwardly. "How was the party?"

Thomas rushed in. "Marinette, we have a problem. Our Miraculous were stolen! They're gone!"

Marinette looked like she was about to blow a fuse from shock. "WHAT?! The Ladybug and Cat Miraculous are gone?! This is a disaster! What on earth happened?!"

"It was two of them," Emilie then explained what had happened. 

Marinette groaned in frustration, "That Lila always was shifty. And now she's stolen the earrings! And she's working with Felix too. This can't be good."

"We can't waste any time!" Emilie said. "We need to get them back as soon as we possibly can."

"I couldn't agree more. It's time to transform. Tikki spots on!"

Marinette's earrings glowed and a flash of light later, she'd turned into Ladybug.

"Just you and Chat Noir won't be enough," Emilie said. "You'll need the Miraculous super squad. Everyone you've trusted until now"

"You'll need us as well," Thomas said. "We can still help."

"I don't know." Ladybug said. "You lost your Miraculous. It's my job to protect them and make sure they don't end up in the wrong hands. You failed to protect yours"

"Then give us different Miraculous so we can fix our mistakes," Thomas said. "We came to the past for one reason, and that's to stop Hawk Moth. If we work together I know we can do it! Let us help you!"

Ladybug looked reluctant. "Ok. But we can't take any more chances. You'll have to promise to be extremely careful." Ladybug then opened her sewing kit and pressed several sets of string in a particular order. The box suddenly revealed a hidden compartment. From it, Ladybug pulled out what looked like a giant red egg on its side. The Miracle Box! Emilie and Thomas thought. "Emilie, Thomas. You have to pick an ally to help you in battle. Once the mission is complete, you will return the Miraculous to me."

Emilie looked inside and found all different kinds of jewelry, each blessed with magical power.

Which one? Emilie thought. I need one that's powerful, one that can help me to do the most I can... she then found a Miraculous that caught her eye. A necklace with a black pendant detailed with little mice. The mouse miraculous.

"This one," Emilie said, pulling the necklace from the box.

Ladybug nodded. "And what about you Thomas?"

Thomas thought for a moment before he came to a conclusion. "I have a question. Could you wear a Miraculous on a different part of your body and have it still work?" he asked. "Like, could a bracelet Miraculous be worn as, say, an anklet and still have the same powers?"

Ladybug shrugged. "I don't know. It's never been done before, I think. What did you have in mind?"

Thomas then pulled out the bee Miraculous and fastened it to his belt like a belt buckle. Suddenly the bee kwami, Pollen, appeared. "Very clever, my king." the Kwami responded.

Emilie agreed. "How did you come up with that Thomas?"

"Well, I can't exactly use it as a hairpin now can I?" he then ran his hands through his short yet messy hair. "So I figured this was the best way to go about it."

Emilie then put on the mouse miraculous. "Hello there!" Mullo the Kwami said.

"I know we only just met, but we're gonna need to get started," Emilie said. "Mullo, get squeaky!"

A gray jumpsuit appeared on Emilie's body and her blonde hair was put into a bun. A gray mask appeared on her face followed by a pink ribbon on her waist.

"Awesome!" Thomas said. "Guess it's my turn. Ready Pollen?"

"Ready, my king"

"Alright then. Pollen, Buzz On!"

A black and yellow jumpsuit appeared on Thomas, followed by a matching mask. Compared to Chloé Bugeious' Queen Bee costume, Thomas's was more black than yellow, but the mask was still the same. Thomas looked over his costume in excitement. "Sweet! I've always wanted to try this on! Vesperia was always one of my favorite heroes!"

"Vesperia?" Ladybug asked. "Never mind. The next thing we should do is get the other Miraculous holders. We'll need to split up."

"You got it," Emilie said.

Ladybug pulled out two Miraculous, a bracelet, and a choker. "Here Emilie, give these to Viperion and Ryuko. Also known as Luka Coffaine and Kagami Tsurugiri" She then reached in and pulled three more out, a necklace, a wrist pendant, and a pocket watch. "Thomas, give these to Carapace, Rena Rouge, and Bunyx. Also known as Nino Lahiffe, Alya Cesaire, and Alex Kubdel. I'll find Pegasus and King Monkey. Cat Noir should meet us on the scene."

Thomas looked surprised. "You want me to get Bunyx? Are you sure? That could mess with the timeline. Not to mention that she's never held a Miraculous before."

"We're going to need all the help we can get Thomas." Ladybug said. "I don't like it either but right now it's the best choice in case something goes wrong."

Thomas nodded. "I understand"

"Alright, let's go!" Ladybug said

The three superheroes then jumped out onto the balcony and into the night.
