Miraculous: Tales of Ms. Ladybug and Tom Cat

Part 30: Rena Rouge & Carapace

"This is Nadia Schamack with a special report! A new supervillain terrorizing Paris! The Louvre Museum and the surrounding areas have been turned into some kind of maze! As you can see from our helicopter view, the maze appears to be made of brick and is filled with akumatized villains we've seen in the past, including Horrificator, Reflekta, Princess Fragrance, and Guitar Villain. More on this story as it develops.

"Leave it to Hawk Moth to ruin our date night," Alya said. She and Nino were having a nice night watching a horror movie marathon at her house while her sisters had gone to the Cinema. Their movie had been interrupted by the report.

"Hopefully it'll turn out ok," Nino said. "After all, this guy can't be any worse than the others. Right? Plus, if things become dire Ladybug and Chat Noir will save the day"

Suddenly the window opened. "I wish that were true," Thomas said, poking his head through. "But right now they could use a little help." He then came through the window and stood in front of them.

"Sorry for the intrusion, but Ladybug is going to need your help."

"Woah! Sick costume dude!" Nino said. "Which Miraculous is yours?"

"Well, right now I have the Bee Miraculous. Call me Adrenus."

Adrenus looked over to see Alya recording on her phone. "So you're the next wielder of the Bee Miraculous?! Cool! Do you have the same powers as Queen Bee? Are you connected to her in any way?"

"We can talk more later. Could you put down your phone?"

Disappointed, Alya put her phone away.

"As I was saying, Ladybug needs your help." he held two jewelry boxes out to them. "Carapace, Rena Rouge, here is the Miraculous of the Turtle and the Fox. You will use these for the greater good."

The two then grabbed their jewelry boxes.

"We don't have a lot of time so let me explain."

Adrenus then went into detail about exactly who he was and why he was here.

"So, you're from the future? That's awesome!" Alya said. "So, how many future spoilers do you know? Who's the next Prime Minister? Do you have hoverbikes? What is France's status on Alien brain implants?"

Alya kept asking questions as Adrenus gave Nino a look.

Does she always ask so many questions? Thomas's face seemed to say.

Pretty Much Nino responded.

"Alya! Listen," he grabbed her by the shoulders, pulling her back to reality. "You have to stay focused. We have a major villain to defeat and not a lot of time. So, activate your powers, and let's go!"

"Alright. But I want an interview when we get back." She then opened the jewelry box to reveal an orange necklace in the shape of a hook. Out of the box appeared a kwami that looked like a fox.

"It's been a while Trixx," Alya said as she put on the necklace.

"Let's go and kick some butt!" Trixx said.

"Agreed. Trixx, Let's Pounce!"

Trixx flew into the necklace. In a flash, Alya's jeans and plaid shirt were replaced with an orange and white costume, complete with a matching mask and ears. On her hip was an orange flute that complimented her hair, which was put into nine locks.

"Your turn Nino," Adrenus said.

"Alright then." Nino opened his box and revealed a green bracelet with a shell pendant. Two seconds later a green kwami with a turtle shell appeared.

"Ah, Master Nino! It's been too long." the Kwami said.

"Wayzz! Dude! It's great to see you again!"

"While it's wonderful to see you again as well, we don't have much time for a proper reunion. We must go and help Ladybug!"

"Alright, then buddy. Let's go! Wayzz, Shell On!"

Wayzz flew into the bracelet and a dark green costume appeared on Nino, complete with a turtle-shell shield and a matching hood.

"Alright, you guys need to meet Ladybug at this location," he handed them a piece of paper. "There, you can meet with the others. I still have one more person to get."

"Totally understand," Alya said. "You ready, turtle boy?"

"You know it, dude!"

The two then jumped out the window in the direction of the Louvre while Thomas looked down at the last Miraculous he had to give. It was so powerful, it could help him stop so many problems, but Thomas resisted the temptation. He remembered what Bunyx had said before he'd come here.

"Messing with time is very dangerous," she said. "Whatever you do, don't interfere more than you have to. Even the smallest changes can drastically affect the timeline. And if it's changed too much you might even prevent your own existence."

Adrenus strengthened his resolve and took off to find Bunyx, or at least the girl who would become Bunyx, Alix Kubdel.
