Miraculous: Tales of Ms. Ladybug and Tom Cat

Part 33: Copycat

"Maybe we were a little too harsh on him." Cat Noir said as he jumped from roof to roof. "His plan was risky but he did pull it off. Not to mention that we pull off risky stuff all the time Milady."

"While that's true his plan was too risky! What if he'd lost the Miraculous?"

"But he didn't. He was careful and was willing to lose it if it meant he could've saved me."

Ladybug considered it. "Maybe you're right. What do you think, Micromouse?"

"I love my brother," she said. "I really do, but at the same time, I think he's not responsible enough for a Miraculous. If I had to choose someone it would've been our older brother. He's responsible and selfless, and is a lot more mature than Thomas."

"But that does leave the question, why Thomas?" Ladybug asked. "Why did I choose him?"

"I don't know," Micromouse said. "But I'm sure that for right now you made the right choice. Thomas needs to grow up a little before he can officially take a Miraculous."

Ladybug thought about this. If Thomas was really so immature, then why did I pick him? Why did he have the Cat Miraculous if there were so many better candidates? Unless...

Ladybug continued to ponder these thoughts until she suddenly got a call on her bug phone.

"Hello?" she asked.

"Milady?" Chat Noir said. "Are you sure you sent me the right location? I'm at the address you've sent me, but I don't see Timebreaker or Adrenus."

Ladybug suddenly had a realization. "I'll call you back in a minute."

She looked back to see Cat Noir running behind her. An imposter?

"Who was that on the phone?" Cat Noir asked.

Ladybug, unsure if he was an imposter, answered, "it doesn't matter. But we need to go back."

"Back?" Emilie asked. "But why?"

"We forgot to give Alix her Miraculous, remember?" Ladybug said.

"But what about King Monkey and Carapace?"

"You go and help them. I'll catch up as soon as I give Alix her Miraculous. If I can, I'll send someone to help you."

"I'll come with you, Micromouse" Cat Noir said

"No kitty, I'm gonna need your help." Ladybug said. "I need you to help me protect the Miraculous."

He looked hesitant "I understand Milady." he said

As they split up and jumped from rooftop to rooftop, Ladybug started talking to Cat Noir with the intention of finding out whether or not he was the real one.

"So kitty," Ladybug said. "This operation is gonna be difficult. We may need to do what we did in Versailles. Remember?"

The Cat looked confused for a moment, but quickly responded, "I don't seem to recall that strategy Milady, could you remind me?"

He's good Ladybug thought. But I'm better

"Just follow my lead." Ladybug said. "And then after this, we can go and see that movie you wanted to see. What was it again?"

Cat Noir suddenly stopped, turned, and attacked Ladybug. Ladybug quickly jumped out of the way and turned to face him.

"How long did it take to figure out?" the imposter said.

"I got a call from the real Chat Noir." Ladybug said. "Also, Chat Noir and I have never been to Versailles, or to the movies."

"Well, I suppose his girlfriend would've figured it out eventually." The imposter said.
