Miraculous: Tales of Ms. Ladybug and Tom Cat

Part 55: Lineage

Hawk Moth burned with rage as the two began to do battle. The other Miraculous holders decided to gang up on Mayura to free their reptilian friend.

"Let Viperion go, Mayura!" Ladybug said, swinging her yo-yo threateningly.

Mayura was unimpressed. "Don't think you've won yet Ladybug. You'll have to take on my Impersonator!"

The Sentimonster engaged in battle, taking the form of one Miraculous holder after another, holding them off.

"We need to stop this Sentimonster before Viperion's time runs out!" Ladybug said. She then threw her yo-yo in the air, summoning her magic power.

"Lucky Charm!" she called, and above her, she created a roll of one of the greatest inventions of all time.

"Duct Tape?" she questioned. "What am I supposed to do with this?"

She quickly analyzed her situation. The Sentimonster was attacking her friends and was changing between them at random. There was no rhyme or reason to it. Wait, there was, she realized. The pattern soon became clear. The sentimonster could only take the form of the Miraculous holder it saw last. She knew immediately what to do with it. She tore off a piece and taped the monster's eyes as a blindfold, trapping them in the form of Rena Rouge. Ladybug quickly called Carapace to trap the monster and did so while she jumped Mayura and took the keychain from her. She quickly broke it and freed the amok, de-evilising it. The sentimonster faded to shadows.

"No!" Mayura called, attempting to get up but stopped by a coughing fit. This distracted the current Hawk Moth before Hugo was able to bring his Ladybug yo-yo around his hand in an attempt to take his ring.

"Cataclysm!" Hawk Moth quickly called, causing Hugo to back away. The battle continued with Hugo summoning a Lucky Charm that was destroyed by the Cataclysm.

"You thought you could beat me with that move? I may have lost to it countless times but with my combined powers I'm stronger than you!"

Hugo growled. "If you're so strong then why don't you have my earrings? You're failing old man! Fairly soon you'll run out of energy and I will have all of your Miraculous!"

"Why would I even give you my Miraculous?!" Hawk Moth said angrily. "You can't possibly share my goal, or else you'd have given me the Miraculous already! So tell me, Hugo, why did I choose you? A person who's nothing without me?! A person who doesn't share my ambition?! A person who couldn't even get the Miraculous himself even after I achieve my goals?!"

"You think you achieve your goal?" Hugo said. "You failed, Hawk Moth. In the future, you're nothing but a pathetic and obsessive man who never cared about his family long enough to care about anyone! Instead, you focus all of your energy on this impossible and ridiculous dream! And you know what's the funny part? In the end, you failed. You never achieved your dream! You end up spending the rest of your life in prison, a failure. Do you hear me?! YOU'RE A FAILURE! YOU'RE A FAILURE FATHER!"

As he said this sentence, the battlefield went quiet as the shock tore through the group like an explosion. The whole battlefield was silent as everyone tried to process what had happened. It was impossible to understand, and more impossible to comprehend. There was no right way to take this.

Even Hugo was shocked by what he'd revealed. He quickly reeled his yo-yo back into a fighting position.

Gabriel, on the other hand, was less shocked and more vengeful. This man? His son? With his dark hair and gray eyes, he wasn't Adrien. So there was only one possible explanation in his mind filled with anger.

"LIAR!" he called out, black Cataclysm in hand, and attempted to disintegrate him, each time only hitting air. "You're a filthy liar! EMILIE IS THE ONLY ONE FOR ME! DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT YOU FILTHY LYING PIECE OF GARBAGE?!

The anger that Gabriel was feeling was just what Hugo needed to gain the upper hand. As he charged at him with blind rage, Hugo used his momentum against him and managed to dodge, trip him, and jump on his back, restraining him to the ground.

"I've always liked Aikido," Hugo said. "Are you familiar? You essentially use your opponent's momentum against them and trap them."

Hugo's knees were currently on Gabriel's. He took the Cat Miraculous and held it in his hand, holding it triumphantly to the sky.

"This is it!" he said. "The power of creation and destruction is mine! I will rule the world forever as the eternal Lord of the Miraculous!"
