Roman's P.O.V

"Heard you got an M9. You got ammo for it?" Aiden asks as he walks up to Virgil. I'm standing next to him, Logan and Patton as the newcomers decide who will learn to shoot. Virgil nods.

"Well in this day and age I'm sure you can use as much as you can get," Aiden says as he hands a box of ammo to Virgil.

"Thanks," Virgil says. Aiden nods and also hands a box of shells to me.

"Thank you," I tell him. He hands a box of ammo to both Logan and Patton who also thank him.

"I had extra ammo. I have ammo for weapons we don't even have," Aiden says.

"Why?" Patton asks.

"Just in case. I could only bring so many guns and so much ammo. I grabbed whatever I could and prayed I got something useful in the long run," Aiden says. We all nod. "You boys gonna practice?" he asks. We all shake our heads. Logan explains that we're all pretty familiar with our chosen weapons.

"Maybe so but it's always good to practice," Aiden says as he walks away.

"He's right," Virgil says, "I just wish we could practice on targets that move. Like the walking dead." Virgil looks at Logan and they share a silent conversation.

"I'm not going to do anything stupid," Virgil finally says.

"I know," Logan responds coolly. "Come on Patton," he says, grabbing his boyfriend's hand. They start walking towards the garage where they usually go to be alone.

"Don't do anything I wouldn't do," I say with a smirk.

"What wouldn't you do?" Logan asks, making me go red.

"Baby," I whine as I put my head on Virgil's shoulder, "Logan's making fun of me." Virgil laughs lightly as he pulls me close.

"Poor baby," Virgil teases.

"Yes. Poor baby. Now make me feel better," I say, lifting my head. He smirks and pulls me into a kiss. I kiss back happily. I love when he pays attention to just me. We pull apart when someone clears their throat lightly.

We turn to see Dr. Jacobs.

"Do you think we could talk for a while?" she asks hopefully. Virgil looks at me for help.

"Do you want to?" I ask him. He bites his lip and nods. It's obvious he doesn't want to go alone.

"You can come with," Dr. Jacobs tells me with a smile. Virgil lets out a small sigh of relief.

"Let's go to the house," I say and they both nod. We walk to the house and sit on the porch. Dr. Jacobs starts by asking how Virgil was in school.

"Okay I guess," Virgil says nervously.

"Better than okay. He was just under Logan who was top of our grade," I say looking at my boyfriend. Virgil gives a small smile.

"You must've got your parents' smarts. Your father was smart but your mother was practically a genius," Dr. Jacobs says.

"So they were good in school?" Virgil asks.

"Oh yes. Your mother more so than your father. Serena had book smarts while Damien had street smarts. He was good with people and difficult situations," she says.

"Nothing like me then," Virgil mumbles. Dr. Jacobs doesn't respond but I notice that she looks a bit hurt.

"What was your favorite subject?" she asks.

"History," Virgil says.

It goes on like this for a while. Her just asking questions about his childhood and how he grew up. What he likes and what he doesn't. Every time Virgil answers a question he also asks the same one about his parents. Dr. Jacobs knows more about her son but is still able to tell quite a bit about her daughter in law as well.
