Logan's P.O.V

"Finally! We're finished. I am dying," Remus says as we finish clearing out 400 of unneeded furniture. We've already cleared 402.

"I'd say we've done enough of moving furniture. We'll do 401, 403 and 405 another day. Let's take care of burying the bodies from all the houses though," Aaron tells everyone. We all nod.

"Virgil, Patton, Janus and Remus. You should head to the field with the shovels and start digging while waiting for us to bring the bodies," I suggest.

"Alright. We can do that," Virgil says.

"Ugh. Fine," Remus says tiredly.

"Patton and I have shovels. You two go look around back and then catch up with us," Virgil tells Janus and Remus.

"Yeah. Yeah. We're going," Janus says, also sounding tired.

"You guys go ahead. We'll be there," Patton says with a smile.

"Alright," I say, smiling back. Patton and Virgil start walking to, then past the gate.

A minute later Roman, Aaron, Aiden and I leave and head back to our house. Aaron gets the truck keys from Sierra while Roman and I climb into the back.

Aaron returns and we head off to 405 first since it's closest. We load the five bodies from there before heading to 402 and loading those three. With the back of the truck full we go to the field and unload the bodies.

Patton, Virgil, Janus and Remus are all digging two holes. Janus and Virgil are doing one while Patton and Remus are doing another. They seemed to have realized two to a hole would be faster. Once all the bodies are unloaded we head to 403 and grab those seven. It filled the cab so we had to go drop these ones off. We then head to 402 where there are three and 401 where there are four. With those now at the field we go to the last house. 400. We grab those six and take them to the field.

With that done Aaron, Aiden, Roman and I climb back into the truck. Roman and I are gonna be dropped off at 405 to look for two more shovels.

We arrive at 405 and get out of the truck.

"Come back if you get too tired or it starts getting dark," Aaron says. He decided he would walk to each house with mine and Roman's fathers to search for clothes. We find only one shovel at 405 so we leave.

"Good thing Virgil kept his promise about doing something reckless." I say more to myself as we leave 405.

"What do you mean?" Roman asks.

"Oh yeah. He said it was when he was coming to meet us after he took JJ and her brother to the Parker's. He said that for a moment he thought about clearing 405 on his own since he was already right there," I explain to him.

"Of course he did," Roman says. He doesn't sound angry or upset. Just a bit worried and yet resigned. We walk next door to 403 to get another shovel. We find two.

"Guess we should've come here first," Roman says. I nod. We make our way to the field.

Patton and Remus have one hole a little less than halfway deep. Virgil and Janus are about the same.

"There's no way we'll get 27 graves dug by the time it gets dark," Janus says as Roman and I start digging.

"It'll take us nine days if each pair digs one everyday. That means three a day," I tell him.

"I guess we can manage that. Right?" Remus says.

"Right," Virgil says. We continue digging and finish with about a few hours of daylight to spare.
