Virgil's P.O.V

Gods I'm exhausted. It's starting to get dark. We've been on the road for over a week. We were lucky enough to fill up our gas tanks yesterday.

"I spy something colorful," Patton says.

"Uhh. The sky?" Charlie answers.

"Exactly!" Patton says with happiness.

"Okay. My turn. I spy something black," Charlie says.

"Hmm.. Virgil's jacket?" Patton responds.

"Yep," Charlie says.

The two of them continue to play I Spy together as I drive down the highway.

"This is kind of starting to get boring," Charlie says after Patton gets the answer right again.

"Yeah. Oh! Wanna see something cool?" Patton asks him.

"Sure," Charlie says.

"Lo?" Patton says to get his boyfriend's attention on him.

"Yes?" Logan answers.

"What is 6897 plus 8579?" Patton asks.

"15,476 I believe," Logan responds after only a second.

"Logan can quickly answer any math question correctly," Patton says.

"No way that's right," Charlie says with disbelief. A moment passes of silence.

"You're still able to use your phone?" Patton asks.

"Yeah. I charged it up and then turned it off. I only turn it on once in a while because once the battery dies it's useless," Charlie responds. I glance back to see him on his phone. Then I look back at the road.

"Holy crap. It's right. Hold on though. You two could have practiced that. Can I ask one?" Charlie says.

"Sure," Logan says.

"Let me think... Okay. 77042 plus 56734?" Charlie asks.

"133,776. You're welcome to check," Logan says. Another moment of silence.

"Dang. Can you only do addition?" Charlie asks him.

"No. I'm able to do most any type of equation," Logan responds.

"435 times 987?" Charlie challenges.

"429,345. Don't you want to challenge me?" Logan asks.

Charlie goes on to ask him to solve equations.

An hour later Charlie, along with the others in the car are sleeping. It's dark. Practically pitch back since it's a new moon. The only light is coming from the headlights.

"Kill me now," I mutter. I've been stuck in this stupid car for over a week. Honestly, I'm starting to get a bit annoyed.

"Do you want me to take over?" Roman says from beside me. I look over to see him awake.

"No. You're supposed to be sleeping," I tell him.

"Aren't you tired?" Roman says.

"I'm not tired," I snap at him. I can feel him staring at me. I let out a heavy sigh. "I'm not tired," I say more calmly. "I'm just tired of being stuck in this stupid car for this long," I add.

"You do seem a bit cranky," he says. I look at him for only a moment before looking back at the road.

"I'm not cranky. I'm just annoyed," I say in response to that.
