Logan's P.O.V

With my curiosity peaked I head towards where I think I heard the sound. As I reach the back of the building I hear the bang again. I walk towards it and find a door that seems to lead to the basement. With only a moment of hesitation I reach out to grab the handle. Before I pull it open something bangs on the door and I hear the unmistakable sound of an infected. I pull my hand back as if it was burned.

"What the hell?" I ask myself.

I take a deep breath and lean closer to hear it again. Just as I thought I hear a bang and grunt of an infected. I jump back and make my way towards the front of the building.

"I've got to tell the others," I say to myself as I exit city hall.

First thing I do is make my way to the restaurant.

"Mr. Queen," I say as soon as I'm inside.

I say it loud enough that it wakes him up.

"Logan? What is it?" Aaron asks, a bit groggy.

"We need to talk to Virgil," I say seriously. He immediately gets up, slips on his shoes and grabs his gun.

"What's going on Logan?" he asks me.

"I'll explain when we get to Virgil," I tell him.

Aaron may still technically be our leader and that's why I got him. He's a good leader too but I'm loyal to Virgil first.

We find Virgil less than halfway to the barricade. He's doing his search.

"Virgil," I say as I walk up to him.

"Logan? What's up?" he asks as he turns around.

"We have a problem," I tell him.

"What is it?" he asks.

"There are infected inside the barricade. One at least. Literally right under our noses," I tell both him and Aaron.

"What?" they both ask at the same time. I quickly explain to them what I heard.

"You're positive?" Aaron asks.

"Absolutely," I respond.

"Hey, what's going on?" Roman asks as he walks towards us. He must've noticed that Virgil stopped.

"There's an infected in the city hall basement," I tell him.

"Well what are we going to do?" Roman asks.

"We're going to take care of it," Aaron says.

"Wait," Virgil says. I can tell he's thinking hard about something by the furrow in his brow. He's staring off in the distance next to me.

"What are you thinking Virgil?" I ask him.

"They have to know it's down there," he responds, looking at me.

"What makes you think that?" Roman asks.

"Think about it. We've been here less than a week and Logan finds it before any of the people who live here. Doesn't Sally and the doctor sleep in city hall? Why didn't they hear it?"

"Like you said, we've been here less than a week. What if it just started that banging? Maybe they never knew it was down there," Roman reasons.

"No. Virgil has a point," Aaron says.

"Here's what we'll do. We'll go to Sally and tell her about it. Her reaction should tell us everything we need to know," Virgil says.

"Good idea. Let's head there now," I say.
