Wait, What?

You walk quietly around the hotel room, since Sarah is passed out in bed. Thankfully, she knocked right out once Becky got her into bed. All 3 of you were worried Sarah would be spending the night with the hotel toilet. You, Lizzie, and Becky still had a bit of energy in you so you decided to hang out on the balcony of your room. You had come back into the room to grab some chips and water.

Once you grabbed the items needed, you carefully tip-toe back to the sliding door leading to the balcony.

"I have acquired the goods" you say as you walk through the sliding door and close it behind you.

"Thank god, I need something to snack on. I can feel the alcohol sitting in my stomach" Becky says as she reaches for the chips.

"I'm honestly surprised you aren't like Sarah. You had almost as much as she did" you say as you take a seat in the open chair next to Lizzie.

You were all sitting around a table, enjoying the warm weather on the balcony. You were thankful it was on the warmer side today—it was early June in Jersey and the weather can be unpredictable during those times.

"I'm so glad we got nice weather tonight. During the spring time in Jersey, the weather can be so unpredictable. You get a taste of each season in the spring" you say to Lizzie.

"Oh I know how it is. I went to NYU, so I got to experience the crazy weather first hand" Lizzie says as she reaches for a water bottle.

"NYU?! Look at you miss smarty pants" Becky says as she stuffs her face with chips.

Lizzie blushes at Becky's comment. "Just because I went to NYU doesn't make me miss smarty pants."

You and Becky both look at Lizzie and say, "Oh, yes it does."

She rolls her eyes at the both of you and tries to shift the attention from her. "Well, what about you two? You both obviously had to go to college to be nurses."

"Oh you betcha. I went to Rutgers University in New Brunswick. It was the worst 4 years of my life" Becky says.

Lizzie looks at Becky shocked at her answer. "The worst 4 years of your life?! Why!"

"Well, everyone has this expectation of what college is supposed to be like. For kids in nursing school, and really any health care related major, that reality is not the same. It was probably the 4 most difficult years of my life but I wouldn't have traded it for the world."

"I guess that makes sense. Nursing is a tough profession and it's not something that allows for errors. (Y/N), what about you?" Lizzie asks.

"I went to Seton Hall University. Similar to what Becky said, I also didn't have a great experience. I enjoyed my school but the program is rigorous and requires a high demand of dedication and study time. I was stuck home most weekends studying while my friends were out partying" you say.

"But, I love nursing. I love helping people and making a difference in people's lives. It's very rewarding" Becky adds.

"Lizzie, what was NYU like?" You ask.

"It was fun, I went for acting, obviously, so I had a very different experience from you two. But, I also had to put in a lot of work for things like rehearsals. People called me the rehearsal police because I was so strict about it. My professors would tell us we should be spending at least 2 hours everyday rehearsing no matter how big or small the part is. Apparently, I was the only one who really took that seriously. I would spend those 2 hours rehearsing for small parts where I would only have 2 minutes worth of dialogue."
