The Great Nor'Easter

     "Are you ready for this Lizzie?" You ask as you approach the ride.

     You hear the screams of the riders making their way through the ride. It brings a smile to your face from the thrill you're about to experience, but for Lizzie, it was pure panic.

     Lizzie looks up at you biting her lip with a nervous look, "I don't know. This one seems much worse than The Serpent."

     "Well, this one doesn't go backwards, only forwards."

     Lizzie let's out a sigh, "I guess that makes it slightly better."

     You 4 make your way over to the entrance of the ride, again walking through the empty lines right up to the main platform. You scan your tickets to enter the boarding zone of the ride. You and Lizzie stand in one section waiting for the gates to open so you can board the ride.

     Like before, you are standing in front of Lizzie. The gates swing open in front of you and you turn to take Lizzie's bag so you can place it on the side of the ride along with the orangutan and your purse. Lizzie sits herself in the ride as you place your belongings on the side. Instead of sitting in a cart, this ride you are hanging, so your feet are dangling.

     "I don't know how I feel about the feet dangling part" Lizzie says to you as she watches you walk over to the seat next to her.

     "Don't worry Lizzie, you'll be fine. These types of rides are a lot of fun" you say to her as you get into the seat next to her.

     You both wait for the ride operators to come around and push the lap bars down.

     Lizzie reaches for your hand, interlocking your fingers again as the ride operators approach you.

     The ride operators push down on your lap bars and do a safety check to ensure you are safely in place. They then move on to Sarah and Becky, who are sitting right behind you two.

     Once all the lap bars are pushed down, the ride operators give a thumbs up signaling the ride is clear to run. The main operator says into the intercom, "All clear, enjoy the ride."

     With that, the ride takes off forward to begin its slow climb up the first hill.

     You can hear Sarah and Becky giggling from behind you.

     "How are you two giggling right now?! I'm freaking out" Lizzie says with panic in her voice.

     Sarah giggles at Lizzie, "Liz, this is such a fun ride! You'll enjoy it. This is one of my favorites."

     "Sarah, you are straight up crazy. That doesn't make me feel better" Lizzie says back to Sarah as she grips your hand tighter.

     Suddenly, the coaster stops making the anxious ticking noise, meaning it has reached the top. Within seconds the ride quickly makes it way down the hill, entering into the main portion of the ride.

     Lizzie begins to scream as the ride makes it way down the hill. You can't help but smile and laugh from the thrill of the ride but also from Lizzie's scream.

     The ride goes through many loops and turns that make your stomach drop. Although it wasn't always the best feeling, you loved it.

     You feel the ride slow down as it nears the main platform. You look over at Lizzie who is breathing heavy.

     "Oh- oh my god. That wa- was a lot o- of fun. I am so out of breath" Lizzie says trying to catch her breath.

"I can see that. Are you okay?"

     Lizzie nods at you, "I'm fine. I think I'm short of breath from screaming so much."

     The ride enters the main platform and comes to a stop. The lap bars unlock and rise up, allowing you to get out of your seat. You walk over to the side of the ride and grab your belongings. Lizzie is waiting for you at the entrance of the exit holding the gate open. As you walk towards the exit, Lizzie reaches to grab her purse from you.

     You and Lizzie make your way down the exit when you notice Sarah and Becky aren't with you.

      "Wait, where are Sarah and Becky?" You say looking behind you.

      "Oh! They ran up ahead while you were getting our stuff. They said the ride takes pictures and they wanted to see their picture."

     "Oh god, I can only imagine what our picture looks like."

     Lizzie giggles at you, "I don't know if I want to see it."

     You and Lizzie reach the end of the exit and see the picture booth. You walk over to Sarah and Becky who are laughing and pointing at the pictures.

     "Oh my- oh my god. Look at you, Becky! You look terrified" Sarah says while trying to contain her laughter.

     "Me?! Look at you Sarah! You look crazy" Becky says while pointing at their picture.

      You and Lizzie approach the picture booth and look for your picture.

     "Oh my god, look at me. My eyes aren't even open" Lizzie says as she spots your picture.

     You giggle at your picture, "Oh god, Lizzie that is too funny. You look terrified and I look like I am having the time of my life."

     "We have to buy that picture. It's too good not to have" Lizzie says as she pulls her wallet out.

     "Hi! I would like to purchase picture number #0806, can I have two copies on a keychain?" Lizzie asks the booth attendant.

      The man running the booth nods at Lizzie and pulls the picture up. The picture begins printing and he gathers two keychains to place the pictures in. Once they are done printing, he cuts the pictures and places them in the keychain.

"That'll be $15" the man says.

     Lizzie hands the man $20 to pay for the keychains. He gives her $5 in change and hands her the two keychains. Lizzie hands you one of the keychains.

     "Now we have something to remember this fun getaway by" Lizzie says as she hands you the keychain.

     You smile at Lizzie and say "Thank you." You take your keys out from your purse and loop it onto your keys. Lizzie does the same.

"So, what's next?" Becky asks.

      "I don't know about you guys, but I would like to have some drinks after those rides" Lizzie says as she begins to walk away from the booth.

     "Drinks it is" Becky says as she follows behind Lizzie.

      As you begin to follow Becky, you feel someone link arms with you.

     "Oh geez, Sarah! You scared me" you say, relived to see Sarah holding your arm.

"Oh please (Y/N), calm down."

      Sarah smirks at you as she says, "So, you and Lizzie have been getting pretty close."

"Yes as friends. Did you hear that? Friends."

"Mhm, yeah sure. Friends. Whatever you say!"

     "Sarah, she's engaged. I'm not getting involved in that."

     "I told you, that engagement is currently rocky. Nows your chance!"

     "Nope. Nooooooope. I don't want to be the reason that engagement ends."

     "Whatever you say, (Y/N). I'll be rooting for Paulsen."

      "Paulsen? Really? That's the best you could do? That's sounds way too close to our last name."

     "I know, I'm working on it. But you don't seem to hate it so obviously you have some feelings towards Lizzie."

"Shut up Sarah."
