Goodbye

"EVERYONE, OUT OF THE WAY" the EMT's shout as they wheel you through the emergency department.

"We'll take over from here" the ER nurse's state as they begin to wheel you to the operating room.

As you are wheeled away to have surgery, Holland, Justin, Sarah, and Lizzie are arriving at the the hospital.

The 4 of them burst through the emergency department doors, anxiously looking for you.

Sarah runs up to one of the ER nurses, "Please, my sister just arrived here. Where is she?"

"She's been taken into surgery. I can take you to our waiting room" the ER nurse says as she wraps her hand around Sarah's waist and leads her to the waiting room.

Holland, Justin, and Lizzie follow the ER nurse to the waiting room. As they arrive to the waiting room, Sarah cracks and begins to break down crying. Holland rush's to Sarah's side and holds her close to her.

"It's okay, it's okay. (Y/N) is going to be okay, she's in good hands. She's a fighter" Holland says whispering into Sarah's ear.

"I'm the older sister, I'm supposed to protect her" Sarah says as she cries even harder into Holland's arms.

Holland holds Sarah closer to her, "You do more than enough for (Y/N). You are her biggest protector, who knows what would've happened if you didn't show up when you did."

As Holland holds Sarah, Lizzie begins to pace around the room panicking.

"That man wanted me, not (Y/N). It should be me on that operating table" Lizzie says as she walks back in forth in the waiting room.

Justin walks over to Lizzie and places his hands on her shoulders, "Hey, hey, hey don't talk that way. (Y/N) did that because she loves and cares for you. She wants to protect you, Lizzie. I promise you, she does not regret what she did."

"You don't know that, you're not (Y/N)" Lizzie says as she begins to cry.

"You're right, I'm not (Y/N). But I know her damn well enough to know that she would take a bullet for anyone. Even Robbie" Justin says trying to console Lizzie.

Lizzie collapses into Justin's arms as she loses control of her emotions. Justin walks Lizzie over to the chairs where Lizzie can sit as she tries to collect herself.

2 hours go by in the waiting room. As Justin, Sarah, Holland, and Lizzie wait impatiently in the waiting room, Becky burst through the doors of the waiting room with Bernie.

"Is there any update?" Becky says trying to catch her breath.

Sarah shakes her head no as she grips tightly onto Holland's hand.

"I'm sorry ma'am, but you can't have any animals in the waiting room" the receptionist says to Becky.

"Listen here lady, Bernie practically saved my best friends life. She will stay here" Becky says to the receptionist.

Bernie barks at the receptionist, causing everyone to laugh.

Before the receptionist can answer, the doctor walks out into the waiting room.

"It's fine Sasha, these are family friends" the doctor says to the receptionist.

"Sean, how is she doing" Sarah says as she springs up in her seat.

Dr. Oakland walks over to Sarah and places his hand on Sarah's shoulder, "You know your sister, one little stab wound isn't going to keep her down for too long. The surgeons are just finishing up now."
