Episode Review

SPOILERS FOR AFTERSHOCKS!!!!!!!!

I so missed typing spoiler alerts in all caps.

I'm actually okay with that episode. Overall.

I support Fitz and Skye's secret-induced friendship, one hundred percent. I think they'll help each other get better and come to terms with what they're going through.

That being said, I also understand where Simmons is coming from. She essentially had to clean up Trip's corpse, by herself. She is definitely the most impacted by his death, and that's on the fault of the team. They should've sent Simmons with someone for moral support. I can certainly understand why she's terrified of an alien virus killing another friend.

Also, I like that subtle "I want to get back to... everyone." Simmons is realizing how much she misses Fitz and needs him for emotional support. She's on her own right now, and she shouldn't be, so I believe after everything with Skye is over, she'll start to realize her true feelings. (Wink wink nudge nudge Simmons. WINK WINK NUDGE NUDGE)

When Simmons finds out about Skye, (and she's already suspicious) I think she'll accept it and try to find a way to harness it. Maybe at first she'll be mad that Skye's quake crumbled Trip, but she'll come around, probably by talking to certain team members.

I love Bobbi even more (I sort of ship her with Skye? I don't know anymore). I love Hunter's sass.

I am annoyed with Mack right now because he's being really insensitive about the whole thing. Not only accusing Skye so meanly, but acting like he is the ultimate victim of the situation when anyone else has just as much sadness as he does.

COULSON IS A GOOD PERSON AND NO ONE CAN FIGHT ME ON THIS. That scene with Trip's mom made me cry.

I love Raina the Porcupine still, and I ship her with Gordon (is that right?) the eyeless teleporting guy. I think Gordon will really help her know she still deserves to live and be treated as a human. Also, Cal (aka Skye's Dad #2) is on my hit list because he basically told Raina (trigger warning) to kill herself. I hate him so much now. He's unhealthily obsessed with Skye at this point.

My favorite part was probably the end scene. It was basically what everyone in the fandom thought the characters needed for healing, and it was light-hearted and funny. Also, May smiled! They're coping together, which makes me all happy. I just really wanted to see Trip walk in unscathed and say, "C'mon, gurrrrllll." I guess I'm too innocent for this show.

The theatrics May and Coulson planned was a great part, too. "They'll never take us alive!" I died laughing after I knew they were okay. I'm also so proud of them for taking down Hydra leaders despite the circumstances. When the Hydra leaders were in competition against each other at the beginning, I knew it wouldn't end well. I honestly think they should just shoot Bakshi, though.

I guess Fitz keeping a secret like this won't help Fitzsimmons, but it's best for the team, so I'm proud of him. He's still smart and he's still having problems, but he's overcoming them. I know Simmons will understand once the time comes.
