Quick Note: Sorry it's been so long! I've been busy!
Also, ISN'T AGENT CARTER SO GOOD?!
----------------------------------------------
Shivers were sent down Fitz's spine the moment he opened the door to the dorm. He had known the stupid piece of plastic would still be there, yet every time he saw it he flinched.
"Your bloody skeleton freaks me out," Fitz said through clenched teeth.
"Only a few more weeks left of Anatomy, and it'll be gone," Jemma replied with a hidden smirk. Fitz was so squeamish, so easily, and his discomfort made for an amused Jemma Simmons.
While Fitz took their coats, Simmons approached the skeleton with the intent of hiding it away in some chest or perhaps the bath. But then again, pranking seemed like a nice idea. Even though pranking was supposed to be seniors-only, Fitzsimmons often broke that rule over elaborate, embarrasing stunts before being returned to class with nothing but a warning (because they were obviously the brightest at the academy).
So, choosing the more benefiting option to herself, Simmons quickly stuffed the plastic skeleton into the coat closet while Fitz was in the kitchen brewing tea.
Now came the hard part. Simmons would need to muster all the strength within her to keep from giddily giggling like a child. At least until Fitz opened the door and was attacked by the lifesize model. She probably should've been used to faking calmness after all these successful pranks, but each time she started a new one, the anticipation bubbled up inside her.
"Here you go," Fitz spoke, then handed her a steaming mug with the periodic table and the word 'Leopald' printed on the side. (It was a gift from his mum that had ended up in Simmons' dorm after a few months of Fitz's constant presence.)
Simmons stifled an anxious smile with the cup, burning her tongue in the process.
"That just came off the stove," Fitz pointed out, then blew on his own scalding cup. Simmons nodded in reply, still struggling with concealing her excitement.
After they had finished their homework and watched a few episodes of Doctor Who, however, Jemma had forgotten all about the waiting prank. She was nearly asleep on Fitz's shoulder when he moved slightly, bringing her back to reality.
"Sorry for waking you," Fitz apologized quickly before trying to stand again.
"I wasn't asleep," Simmons said with a sleepy smile. She then stood as well, and stumbled drowsily to the coat closet unsuspectingly to get Fitz his coat while he tied his converse.
When a realistic-looking skeleton fell on top of her barely-awake self, she could do nothing but shriek and fall to the floor, bumping her head against the carpet pretty hard.
Fitz burst into laughter as Simmons clutched at her head and sat up, pushing the skeleton off of her.
"Are you okay?" Fitz asked, not quite concealing a smirk.
"I believe I may be concussed. You're lucky I'm not a woman past menopause, because you could have just given me an attack of Takotsubo Syndrome."
Fitz just smiled gently at her attempt to scare him. Jemma was adorable. Not in a helpless kind of way, in a says-too-much-and-is-extremely-unbelievably-fierce kind of way.
Fitz helped her up before she would probably fall asleep on the floor, and gave her a brief friendly hug before excusing himself.
Jemma was left laying in the darkness on top of her covers, barely awake enough to plan on getting Fitz back for the last failed prank.
