Quick Note: Fitzsimmons bickering in the lab. Thanks to my friend Molly who unintentionally inspired this story.

---------------------------------------------

Fitzsimmons were fighting in the lab again. And over what? The scientists used their genius minds to argue over who the best Avenger was.

"I'm just saying that Iron Man is more useful to the team. He can fly, perform computerized analysis, shoot beams out of his hands and feet." Simmons argued.

"But what about inside, Jemma?" Fitz countered. "Captain America is clearly the better Avenger. He was specially chosen not for physical qualities or intelligence, but for pure American patriotism and kindness."

"Tony Stark is way more capable than Steve ever will be! He stayed calm and escaped capture using his mental skills, not artificial strength from a steroid serum!"

"Simmons, Captain America inspired thousands of people. He was the reason S.H.I.E.L.D. was founded! Without him, we wouldn't have jobs!"

"But Iron Man has opened up a world of possibilities, especially in your field, Fitz. I don't understand how you could disagree with me on this! Tony is a genius, quite handsome, a billionaire! Just like you, minus the billionaire part."

Fitz tried not to show his feelings and hoped she couldn't hear his rapidly beating heart. Jemma had just said he was a handsome genius. Simmons was good at this arguing, complimenting him while insulting his ideas. He had to pull it together.

"Well Captain America is just like you! He would give himself up for others, just like you would! He almost gave up his life by plunging into the icy ocean, just like you! And you know what? He is the kindest person on the team, always helping others. Just. Like. You." Simmons turned away, seemingly defeated.

Suddenly, she gasped as she found out she could add to the argument.

"But there's one thing you forgot, you see!" she yelled in triumph, turning to find she was rather close to Fitz. "Iron Man is-"

"Shut up, Simmons." Fitz interrupted her, grabbing her arm and pressing his lips against hers gently. As he pulled away, she smiled.

"God, Fitz. Now I forgot what I was going to say." Simmons exclaimed, annoyed. Fitz laughed.

"I need to try that more often." he told her.

"I could never stay mad at you if you did." she replied, then pulled him down for another kiss.
