Quick Note: Spoilers for season two of Doctor Who. Another short one, since I have to write seven this week.

"Rose Tyler, I-"
"Nooooooo!" Jemma yelled at the television as the Doctor hologram disappeared from the parallel universe. "They can't do that!" She was crying now. Fitz sat behind and above her on her dorm room couch, silently tearing up.
"Why would they do that?" Jemma questioned the air after the episode was finished. She honestly didn't care about the redheaded bride that had appeared in the TARDIS. Her tenrose feels were still sweeping over her.
"I don't know, Jemma." Fitz stated. Silence for a few moments. "A marketing ploy to bring us back to see if they wind up together?" he suggested.
"A marketing ploy, Fitz?" Jemma nearly shouted.
"Sh, Jems. It's two in the morning and you do have neighbors."
"I cannot believe you right now." Jemma remarked solemnly. "What kind of a marketing ploy makes thousands of people's hearts burst?"
"I don't know, Jemma." Fitz lowered himself to the floor next to her. She curled herself up next to him. "Do you want to check Tumblr now?"
Jemma shook her head. "Too soon."
"Well, do you want to-"
"I don't want to do anything but yell and cry." she cut him off.
"You can't do that Jemma." Fitz tried. "'Cause then you'll make me sad, too."
"Fine." she said reluctantly. Fitz stood up and made his way to her wardrobe, where he opened the door and started searching for something. Jemma lazily sat up and pulled herself onto the couch and watched him.
"What are you looking for?" she asked.
"This." he said, holding up the blonde wig Jemma used when she went to Doctor Who parties and nerd conventions.
"Stop it, Fitz." she complained. Fitz didn't appear to have heard her, as he placed the wig on her head and grabbed the sonic screwdriver she kept by the Classic Who discs under the TV.
"I'm the tenth doctor, you're Rose, okay?"
"No." Jemma said sternly. Fitz gave her a pout. She shook her head firmly.
"C'mon, Jems. You can make the scene go however you want to."
Jemma tilted her head to the side in consideration.
"Fine." She hopped off the couch to see Fitz's surprised expression.
"Well, I can honestly say that I didn't think that would work." he explained. "But, since you're so willing..." Jemma smiled a little. "There it is. Before we begin, any notes?"
"This is ridiculous."
"Good. And... go!"
Jemma didn't know what to do at first. Then she walked to the corner of the room and turned, as though she was Rose seeing the Doctor for the last time. She ran as much as she could towards Fitz in her tiny dorm room space.
"I'm not actually here." Fitz said on cue. "It's a halogram. I'm burning up a sun to see you." The scene proceeded tearfully.
"I loved you!" Jemma sobbed like Rose had. "I still do. You can't, you can't do this."
"I guess this would be the time to say." Fitz began the last line. They were staring deep into the other's eyes, and it felt real.
"Rose Tyler," One word left. "I-" he looked at Jemma expectantly. She nodded for him to continue, to improvise.
"I love you." he finished genuinely, grabbing Jemma's hand and lacing it with his own. There was silence for a moment as Jemma watched their fingers move against each other. Fitz's thumb stroked the outside of her hand.
"Jemma," Fitz tried, reaching up to brush her tears away.
"And scene." Jemma spoke quickly, dropping his hand and pulling off the wig. Fitz sighed softly, then turned and put the sonic back and attempted to regain his thoughts.
"Just to let you know, Fitz, there couldn't have been any hand holding. He was a halogram."
"Yeah, but I'm not. Did you like it? Did it make you feel better?" Fitz asked eagerly.
"Sure. Thanks, Fitz." Fitz took this as his cue to leave and made his way to the door.
"Bye, Jems."
"Bye, Fitz."
He closed the door between them and emerged out into the hallway, where he stood for a moment. Against his better judgement, he slowly leaned up against the door and put his hands up against it. It was just as painful as he thought it would be. Except more because the barrier between them wasn't a void between parallel universes. It was a non-mutual love.
"Jemma Simmons, I-" he breathed out.
