"I'd like to say that this is completely unfair," Skye complained, nowhere near serious. "Fitzsimmons have known each other for years and they can communicate through their weird psychic powers. I had no clue what May wanted for Christmas."
"I didn't want a fancy bath set," May clarified sternly. Fitz snickered before being shut down by May's glare.
"Fitz and I only knew what to get each other because we spend time with each other," Simmons jumped in to defend them. "If you would've talked with Agent May more often, you could've known what she wanted."
"I don't think she wants things like you and I do. I'm still not convinced she isn't a robot," Skye joked to a roll of the pilot's eyes. "What did all of you get, if you're so good at buying gifts?"
"I got Coulson a Captain America tie," said Ward.
"And I got Ward a checkers set," May added with a glare in his direction. May still wasn't completely over his betrayal.
"I modified some headphones for Skye," said Mack.
"Bobbi got a Star Wars box set," said Lance.
"I bought Call of Duty for Mack," said Bobbi.
Then Coulson finished, "I'm the director, so I didn't had time to buy a gift. But Lance, you get to keep your job. Congratulations."
"I'm so grateful, sir," Lance muttered sarcastically.
"Okay, so I'm a horrible person for not knowing the perfect gift," Skye crossed her arms.
"That's not true," Simmons interrupted. "The first year Fitz and I bought each other presents, he gave me a coffee mug with a horrible chemistry pun on it."
"Well, Simmons gave me socks, so I'm clearly-"
"Sh! Anyways, it took us years to get to the point where we know exactly what to get."
"So what did you both get this year?"
"Free cuddle coupons," Simmons answered with a laugh. "We use them a lot."
Skye turned to May with a sweet smile on her face. "Would you like free cuddle coupons?" she asked, faking nice.
"I'll take some sunglasses instead," May replied sternly, and she let the team laugh this time.
The party continued with some board games and a group viewing of Elf, until everyone was tired. They had eaten a lot of fast food from Burger King, along with the eggnog and veggie platter Simmons had forced them to buy.
"Jemma," Fitz whispered towards the end of the movie. "Can I redeem a coupon now?"
She smiled sleepily and scooted towards him on the couch, resting her head on his shoulder as he wrapped an arm around her shoulders.
