"Fitz, what are you working on?" Jemma asked as she walked into the garage in their home, very pregnant with their first child.

Fitz had carried a laptop into the cold garage a few hours ago and hadn't come inside since. Simmons had gotten worried, naturally, and brought him some coffee.

"It's a surprise," he said, then slammed shut his laptop.

"Fine. I'm starving, so I'm going to go make peanut butter toast. And ice cream." Simmons shuffled back inside. Her cravings had hit her like a train, and now she felt as though she was constantly eating.

When she was done eating, she put in an uncharacteristic romantic comedy to watch on the couch with her snuggie that no longer covered her feet.

When she heard the garage door close, she asked Fitz, "Hey, is it December?"

"Yeah..." Fitz replied cautiously as he snuck past her and into the office where he had piled up all the boxes of Christmas lights.

"Does that mean they're selling egg nog?" Simmons asked excitedly as Fitz snuck behind her with a huge box of lights.

"Yeah, do you want some?" Fitz asked, then opened the garage door and pushed the lights box inside.

"If you have time to get it."

"I'm on it," Fitz said, and with a quick trip to the closest grocery store, he had egg nog as well as Siracha sauce. Simmons had been wanting a lot of Siracha lately, and she put it on everything from baked potato to eggs.

"Jemma," Fitz caught her attention as she watched her movie. "Here." He handed her a glass of egg nog, and she took it, then thanked him.

Fitz walked back out to the garage to finish programming. Once he was done with that, he brought the strings of lights outside and began hanging them all over. There was literally not an inch where there wouldn't be a bulb.

When Fitz came back inside with frozen numb hands and a huge showcase grin, Jemma was eating mac and cheese with Siracha in it.

"Dinner?" Fitz asked with a chuckle, and Simmons glared.

"I want you to see something," Fitz said anxiously.

"Okay," Simmons replied, then reluctantly set down her bowl.

Simmons wrapped herself in a robe and stepped out into the snow-blanketed darkness.

"What is it?" Simmons asked when Fitz instructed her to look at the house.

"Wait..." He pressed a button, and the house burst into light and sound, so loud that Simmons had to cover her ears.

Then the familiar lyrics to Jingle Bells registered in her mind, and a smile spread across her face unconsciously. The lights danced with the tune.

"This is amazing!" she shouted over the music, and gave Fitz a kiss on the cheek. Like a child, she started dancing around the front lawn, dragging Fitz around with her while the music continued to blast.

In the distance, their old neighbor Stan could be heard shouting about 'those darned kids and their loud music'.
