"Gray?" you called out to your boyfriend from the comfort of his bed as he stood at the edge of his bed, about to join you for a good night's rest

"Yes babe?"

"Why don't you date someone like yourself?"

"Someone like myself?"

"Someone who's...white" you whispered, but Grayson heard you loud and clear

"Why would you ask that?"

"Look at me Grayson...I'm black and with coarse hair" you sighed as you pointed at your hair

"...and what difference does it make?"

"Shouldn't you be with someone who's more like you? White with nice fine hair"

"...you've been looking at the comments again, haven't you?"

"I can't help but see that what they say is true! They're always making fun of me and my skin because I'm black and then those repercussions fall on you because they'll post those comments on your social media, I just don't want to cause anymore problems for you"

"Y/N, listen to me" spoke Grayson softly as he sat on the bed and brought to sit in between his legs, your back against his chest, "you could be any color in the world, black, indigo, green, I don't care about the skin color of a person, what matters is their personality. I love you for you, for how nice you are, how you take care of me when I'm sick, how you always know how to lift my spirits, you being black just adds a bonus because I love your skin color" he said as he kissed your shoulder and hugged you tightly

"Gray"

"And your hair is beautiful, you can do so much with it, and yea sometimes it's difficult to take care of it, but not everything is going to be easy in the world, I love you for you, I love your black skin, I love your coarse hair, I love your warmth, your lips against my skin, I love everything about you"

"Thanks Gray, I really needed that" you said as you smiled back at your boyfriend as you both got ready for a good night's sleep

Grayson became bothered by how his fans have been treating you, and he was determined to make it right

Before falling asleep, he tweeted out that he would do a surprise meet and greet at a park nearby

That would be his chance for him to reassure you just how beautiful you are and how special you are to him

The next day Grayson told you he wanted to take you out somewhere and so you got ready and soon enough you were both out the door

As you both walked through a park, hand in hand, with head on Grayson's shoulder, you started hearing girls squeal from behind you

"Oh my gosh it's Grayson Dolan!"

"He's here!"

"Who's he with? Is that his girlfriend?"

"Hey guys" Grayson said as he turned around, making you also turn around to face them

"Hi!"

"You guys are so cute together!"

"Can we get a picture?"

You hid behind Grayson as you weren't used to the fan interaction in person

"Actually I wanted to call you guys out here and introduce you to my girlfriend" Grayson said as he stepped to the side so you could show yourself as you sent them a shy wave, making them all awe at how shy you were

"She's so cute!"

"She's really pretty!"

"I love your hair! I want to get mine done like that!"

All the fans started complimenting you and congratulating Grayson for having chosen such a beauty for a girlfriend

When everyone waved goodbye you and Grayson walked back to the apartment as happy as could be

He turned to you and kissed your temple as he spoke, "The people online are different from the people in person, they love you and so do I, not matter your skin color, I love you"

"Thank you Gray" you responded and kissed his lips, "I really appreciate you doing that for me, I'll try not to be so insecure next time"

"I love you ok? That's all that matters, even if they didn't like you, I like you and you like, that's what matters, don't worry about the opinion of people you may never see again, I love you"
