"what? thats a no for me jeonghan. there are a lot of patients right now, hindi ko masisingit yan."

i shook my head. "but its jiwons birthday."

she stopped from what she was doing then she looked at me. "you know me jeonghan. if i said no, its a no. if you want to celebrate jiwon's birthday, then do it somewhere not here." she looked away then she grabbed her medical prescription pad. she didnt dart me a single glance and just walked passed by me until i was left here at the ward.

it was saturday today and as usual, jiwon and i need to accompany our mom here at the hospital to help her and other nurses in pediatric section and she wasnt lying when she told me that there has a lot of patients as of the moment mostly in ages three to four. some of them got diagnosed in dengue, servere fever and then some was from accidents. . i mean, we all know kids. they are curious at anything surrounds them. and thats enough reason for my mom to reject what i wanted to do here next thursday for jiwons birthday.

oh, i just want to threw a small party to celebrate her birthday and i know my limits. . just you know? greeting jiwon and make her happy that day was enough for me and i thought she would like it since she was also kinda fond with kids but mom didnt like it so i guess, i was really doesnt have a choice. hindi matutuloy yung gusto ko. as far as i remember, jiwon rarely celebrates her birthday. ever since she became distant to me when she was growing, ayaw nya nang pinaguusapan about sa birthday nya.

and i just want to make it different this coming thursday. she deserves that.

i heave a sighed before i went back to what i was doing. my break was over since it has been ten minutes had passed. i met with jiwon at the room 304 trying to calm jay down because he was whinning and it seemed like the kid doesnt want to get injected with his designated medicines at this hour. i could remember daniel to him and i was relieved that daniel was even better than before. i went closer to them and helped jiwon to soothe the poor kid while the nurse was doing her best to inject the medicine on the kids nape.

after soothing jay, i signalled jiwon and the nurse that i was going already to check other patients. i went to the next door beside jay and met with karina whose busy playing with her ipad. her mom was on the side, talking to the other line but when she saw me knocking on karina's door, she signalled me to enter already and a smile crept into my face when karina called for me the moment she saw me entered her room. she had been admitted here for almost a week now since she caught a dengue.

"are you gonna check me, doctor?"

i smiled at her as i was sitting at the table next to her bed. "yup. how are you feeling, karina yah?" i signalled her to turned around because i was going to check her heartbeat. mom told me to check on their heartbeat first so yeah.

she giggled. "much better pero still i couldnt eat properly."
