DINAH

Monday had snuck up on Dinah. Jackie gave her the day off. And since it was Victoria's day to open the merch store, the brunette was all by her lonesome. She spent her morning doing some last-minute cleaning around the apartment, looking over emails she hadn't opened in about a week, and did some morning yoga after having a small breakfast. She was now browsing the internet while soft music played in the background. Today was a beautiful, spring day, so she decided to put up the windows.

If she was being honest, she was still on a high from the amazing weekend she had. It was endearing to see Quincy in his dad role. And little Adeya was such a sweetheart. She could admit that she had a hard time saying goodbye to the little one before Quincy drove her back home. The six-year-old was that loveable. But what she couldn't shake was the nagging feeling of being watched for the duration of her time with them. It grew even stronger once they got to New Hope. Dinah never brought it up, even when her and Quincy were by their lonesome. She didn't want to alarm the man.

Just as she thought about it, the feeling came back. But this time, it was too persistent to ignore. The brunette got up from her living room couch and scanned the room. She allowed her eyes to change from deep mocha to burning auburn as she did one final sweep, but she still couldn't pick up on another person's presence. She took a step outside and stood on her balcony, looking across the street just to make sure some pervert wasn't watching her through a pair of binoculars or something. Coming up short on such a sight, she went back inside. But upon turning around to sit back down, she was startled by a woman leisurely sitting on one of her kitchen stools. The brunette let out a screech that caused the other woman to flinch.

"What the..." Dinah exclaimed, "...how the fuck did you get in here!?"

"All of your windows are open," the other woman calmly replied.

"Oh, sure! Cause everybody knows that's a sign to just hop into a stranger's apartment! Who even are you!?"

The other woman slowly got up from her seat. She circled around Dinah, looking her up and down before a smirk appeared on her face.

"He always did have great taste in women," she chuckled, bringing some of Dinah's hair behind her ear.

"What the hell are you talking about?" Dinah asked, her face scrunched up.

"You don't see the family resemblance?" the woman asked, cocking an eyebrow at the brunette.

Dinah's eyes widened as realization struck her.

"Normani?"

The other woman, now known as Normani, smiled approvingly as she continued to eye the brunette.

"Very good," she said. "So, he did tell you about me."

"No, no, no, no," Dinah said, "no, this can't be real. You're dead. You died in a car crash."

"Well you're right about one thing," Normani said. "I did die. But as you can clearly see, I'm not dead."

"But...how-"

"Take a wild guess, sweetheart."

It was Dinah's turn to give Normani the once over. The woman had a muscular stature to her but was thick in all the right places. Her skin was strongly melanated as if the sun never stopped shining on her. Her lips were full, and her eyes held specs of ember that only burned brighter under the sunlight.
